Day 1: Depart after breakfast for Selous Game Reserve. Packed lunched en-route will be provided. Overnight at Tented Camp, half board. Day 2: Start the day with a walking safari accompanied by an armed game ranger. This will take you through a wide part of the game reserve. Breathe in the intoxicating smell of the African bush: a mixture of the earth and the animals. You will not only try to identify the different animal spoor but your guide will share with you his knowledge of the different flora in the reserve. The local people use some of these plants and trees for different medicinal purposes. Thereafter, proceed for a full day drive with packed picnic lunch provided. Relax by the waterfall before returning to Camp for overnight on full board basis. Day 3: Start the day with a morning boat safari. Late afternoon game drive and overnight at the Camp, full board Selous Game Reserve the largest wilderness area in Africa covers 50,000sq km. The reserve supports an enormous number of elephants, buffalos and wildebeests. Other rare species include the African Hunting dog. The park provides home for some of the last remaining black rhinos. The Reserve is centred on the Rufiji River which meanders through the park from its headwaters in the Ruaha Valley to the river delta opposite the Mafia Islands. The Rufiji River and its surrounding forests and grasslands are a haven to a wider variety of wildlife that are sustained by this perennial, majestic river. Explore The Selous by vehicle, by boat or on foot. Day 4: This will be a drive of 9 hours through some of the most scenic parts of Southern Tanzania. Villages and the Uluguru Mountains dot along the way. You will make a short lunch break by the road side arriving Mikumi late in the afternoon, overnight on full board basis. Day 5: Early game drives depart from the lodge at 06.30 in time to catch the animals stirring up from their sleep and going for the early morning hunting. Overnight at, full board. MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK is flanked between the Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains. Mikumi National Park is home to buffalos, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras and leopards. The park is also famous for its wild dogs and 6m long pythons. Day 6: Morning departure for Ruaha Nat Park via Iringa town where your cook will stop for fresh provisions. The journey will see you pass sisal plantations, local villages before starting to climb the Great Rift Escarpment passing Iringa Town. Arriving later in the afternoon, your game drives begin as your guide drives along the Great Ruaha River. Overnight at Ruaha Banda, full board. Day 7: Depart in the morning for early morning game drive returning to the camp for followed by a later afternoon game drive after lunch. Overnight at Ruaha Bandas, full board Day 8: Accompanied by an armed ranger, we start the day with a walking safari. Afternoon game drive, overnight day game drive and overnight at Ruaha Bandas, full board RUAHA NATIONAL Full PARK, Tanzania\'s 2nd biggest park and host to a number of animals which rare or absent in the North. The rare animals include the African Wild dog, roan and sable antelope and the greater kudu. The Great Ruaha River, which provides life to the park, flows through the eastern side of the park and is home to hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds. Day 9: The drive from Ruaha National park to Mbeya which is a long to will be a long while passing beautiful agricultural villages. Overnight at Lodge, full board. Day 10: Drive to the Tanzania/Malawi boarder and after the boarder and immigration formalities and visit to the Karonga Project Museum where hundreds of fossils from dating back from dinosaur times some 100 million years ago to the period of first humans, some 5 million years a 2.5 million year old lower jaw of Homo rudolfensis were found, over night at Lodge bed and breakfast. Day 11: Day at leisure in the lodge and overnight Lodge bed and breakfast. Day 12: Transfer immediately after breakfast to Nyika National Park and to Chelinda Camp, overnight on full board basis Day 13: Game drive and over night at Chelinda Camp. Option activities include walking and horse back safari. Overnight at Camp on full board basis Established in 1965, Nyika Plateau is the largest and oldest National Park in n Malawi. It is Nyika is made up of rolling grassy hills surrounded by steep escarpments and interspersed with forested valleys, most of which are above 2,000 meters above sea level. This vast plateau is a perfect place for game drives, horseback riding and long walks through the long grass. Streams and dams are stocked with trout, and game such as eland, zebra, roan, waterbuck and smaller antelope roam the area. Night drives reveal eyes of hyenas, jackals and plenty of owls, and if you are lucky you might spot a leopard. A variety of 200 species of orchids cover the grasslands in the spring. Day 14: After break-fast depart for Nkhata Bay. Overnight at Beach Resort. Bed and breakfast Day 15&16: Days at leisure. Optional activities will include explore the local fishing villages or yoga offered by qualifies. Overnight at Beach Resort, bed and breakfast. All of the eight chalets, overlooking the Lake Malawi are tastefully furnished and have en suite facilities. Each has its own solar power and hot water boiler. A certified Srivinanda Instructor instructs yoga lessons. Other optional activities will include village walks water sports, fishing, kayaking among others. Your driver and vehicle will be parked at the Lodge for your personal use at all times. Day 17: Morning departure for Lilongwe and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
