Day 1: Johannesburg (South Africa) to Inhambane (Mozambique)
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport (O.R. Tambo International) you will be met by a our representative, who will assist you while you book on to your 2 hour connecting flight to Inhambane on the warm tropical coast of Mozambique.
Inhambane is located 485km north of Maputo on Mozambique’s Manta Coast. This area is fast becoming world famous for its spectacular diving, friendly Mozambique people and breathtaking scenery. The diving can compare with some of the best in the world and is still a relatively well-kept secret. From the awesome sightings of Manta Rays, Whale sharks and Humpback Whales to the sought after Harlequin Shrimp, Frogfish and Sea Horses – there is something to please everyone. The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are teeming with life and the reefs are pristine. The species list is endless and the colours of the pristine reefs beyond description, and there is still so much to discover!
On arrival in Inhambane, you will be met your Lodge representative, who will escort you to your Lodge, a stones throw from the edge of the Indian Ocean.

Day 2, 3, & 4: Barra Lodge, Inhambane (Mozambique)
Barra Lodge is nestled between groves of coconut laden trees on a secluded, unspoilt tropical beach over looking the crystal clear waters. A truly idyllic Indian Ocean setting where the warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round and the wide open, sun drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling. The Accommodation is in traditional Casitas made of thatch, brick and reeds creating a charming atmosphere, all of which are a stone's throw from the beach and offer en-suite bathroom facilities.
The Lodges dive/activities centre a wide range of activities enable guests to delight in the Mozambique ocean environment. The Lodge offers scuba diving, snorkeling, game fishing, kayaking, dhow sailing trips, sunset cruises, historical tours, quad biking and visits to local cultural villages.
The fantastic restaurant will provide you the opportunity to feast on the extremely fresh locally caught seafood, combined with African cooking and local flavours, offering you a unique dinning experience.
It is difficult to say how you will fill your day, either extremely active taking part on every activity possible or taking it easy, enjoying the sub-tropical weather and soaking up the Mozambique sunshine.
Day 5: Barra Lodge, Inhambane (Mozambique) / Maputo (Mozambique)
Unfortunately, this is your final morning in Barra but not the end of your adventure. After breakfast and some last minute sightseeing, you will be escorted back to Inhambane.
You will then have time to do some final curio shopping in the local markets, where we are sure you will pick up a few fantastic bargains, after-which you will catch your connecting flight to Maputo.
In Maputo, you will be met by your host, who will escort you to you lovely hotel set in the heart of the Baixa area of this beautiful city.

Day 6: Maputo (Mozambique) and the Blyde River Canyon (South Africa)
After breakfast, your will be collected for a morning tour of Maputo. We travel the streets by car and foot, exploring the markets and the historic sites. Maputo is a city of contrast, where poor, rich, new and old live together in harmony. As you stroll through the streets you will come across 17th century architecture alongside 21st century modern day buildings. It is truly a site to see.
After lunch, you will be collected by your own professional driver who will escort you to your destination. Experience the chaos of an African Border Post, before entering South Africa and onto the Blyde River Canyon.
This amazing destination is the 3rd largest Canyon in the world and is home to several natural wonders. You will spend you evening on a private nature reserve set on the southern border of the Canyon.

Day 7: Blyde River Canyon / Thornybush Game Reserve (South Africa)
After breakfast, you will take a leisurely stroll (less than 500m) to Hazyview Elephant Sanctuary, where you will take part in an amazing contact session with the worlds largest land mammal. Learn about their physiology and ecology while physically experiencing their strength and intelligence. This unforgettable experience is not to be missed.
You then return to your rooms to quickly freshen up before being collected by you local guide, and a short trip through the rural areas of the Lowveld and on to your exclusive lodge in Thornybush Game Reserve. You will arrive in time to check in before embarking on your first game drive.
Return to the lodge for a fantastic meal under the stars of Africa.
Day 8 & 9: Thornybush Game Reserve (South Africa)
The Reserve offers you a unique exclusive Safari experiences in both open Land Rovers, and on foot. The private reserve is home to an abundance of species: 147 mammals including the "Big Five", 114 reptiles, 507 birds, 49 fish, 34 amphibians and 336 trees. The reserve is predominantly open savannah and with a near perfect year round climate, it is the ideal African safari holiday destination.
Game drives and walks are accompanied by highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers, ensuring that your African Safari experience is truly memorable. A typical day will include an early morning and late afternoon up-close game drives, while you may also request additional bush walks with your ranger & tracker, while the mid-day period can be spent at the Lodge Swimming pool or in your chalet enjoying a good book.
The viewing hides allow bird lovers an excellent opportunity to encounter the game reserve’s 507 different species of bird as well as regular visits by other animals.
In the evening, enjoy the balmy weather and pristine stars of the Southern Sky and Milky Way, as you have never seen them before – including the spectacular Southern Cross.
Day 10: Thornybush Game Reserve / Rhino Post Lodge (South Africa)
Your day will begin with an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. After-which you will be collected by your local guide, who transfer you by road to Rhino Post Lodge in the Kruger National Park. The change in venue will provide you with an opportunity to experience a new biome, as well as different animals. You have a choice of either traveling within the Kruger National Park or outside the Park. The internal Kruger Route would give you further opportunities to look for animals, while the outside route would take you past several beautiful vistas of the Blyde River Canon. The choice is yours.
On arrival at Rhino Post Lodge, you will have enough time to check in and freshen up before departing on your evening game drive.
Day 11: Rhino Post Lodge (South Africa)
Your lodge is set in a private concession within the southern section of The Kruger National Park, bordering on the world renowned Sabi-Sabi and Mala-Mala Game Reserves. The area teams with wild life and is synonymous with the Big 5, especially white and black Rhino. Your days will be spent searching the plains in open-safari vehicles with your expert ranger. Two drives a day, provide you with hotter mid-day period to enjoy the luxurious Camp and its wonderful facilities. Relax by the pool or enjoy a drink at the bar overlooking the fabulous view of animals coming down to drink at the Camps waterhole.
Meals are a lavish affair, combining western favourites with local flavours and delicacies. Dinner is enjoyed in either a Boma style restaurant around a fantastic open fire under the African sky or on the deck overlooking the Camp waterhole.
For those who wish for a slightly different experience, you can request an upgrade to Rhino Plains Wilderness Camp, where you will explore the area on morning and afternoon game walks.
Day 12: Rhino Post Lodge / Johannesburg via Nelspruit (South Africa)
On your final day, you will embark on your very last Game Drive, before enjoying breakfast in Camp. After saying your goodbyes, you local guide will escort your to KMIA for you short flight back to Johannesburg.
