Full Tour:
Day 1: Johannesburg and into the Kruger National Park (Meals: D) You will be met in Johannesburg by your Safari Guide. After brief introductions and a quick stop for last minute suppliers, we head down the escarpment to the Lowveld, home of the Big 5. After a relaxing 5 hour drive that will give you an opportunity to see some of the beautiful countryside and a chance to get to know your guide, you will enter the world famous Kruger National Park.
Here Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast 2-million hectare game sanctuary. Hopefully we will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe before we reach camp.
Your accommodation will be in comfortable en suite safari tents in one of the official Camps of the Kruger National Park. You will have great views over the African bushveld, with animals regularly visiting the Camps (which are fenced!).
If time permits you will go for a quick afternoon drive, before your Ranger prepares dinner for you on an open fire.
Days 2, 3, & 4: Kruger National Park (Meals: B & D) Your days will be spent exploring the vast Kruger Plains, which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities. Renowned for its diversity and home to approximately 145 mammal and over 500 bird species, this amazing sanctuary is bound to provide you with some awesome game viewing. Your knowledgeable guide will provide you with insight into the different species and ecological phenomena you come across. Your daily routine will include early morning and late afternoon game drives with your guide, the hotter mid-day periods will be spent relaxing at camp reading, bird watching, swimming or just taking a cat-nap in the shade of a tree. The safari will also include an open vehicle game drive and a Big 5 walk.
In the evening, enjoy the balmy weather and pristine stars of the Southern Sky and Milky Way, as you have never seen them before – including the spectacular Southern Cross.
Day 5: Kruger to Blyde River Canyon (Meals: B) Our final day will begin with an early morning game drive to a secluded picnic site in order to enjoy our last African breakfast before making our way out the Park.
We visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, an amazing wildlife treatment and education facility which cares for injured animals and birds of prey.
You will then explore the wonders of the Blyde River Canyon, taking in the beautiful vistas of God’s Window, the natural wonders of Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Mac-Mac Falls, before heading to your lovely Inn on southern section of Canyon.
Day 6: Blyde River Canyon to Maputo (Meals: B) After a fantastic breakfast, we then travel east towards to the coast, leaving South Africa behind. Our destination: Maputo – the City of contrast. Arriving late-afternoon, we will have to time to check in.
We can either choose to take the afternoon and relax around the pool or go out to explore the area by foot. In the evening we will dine at one of the many fantastic restaurants. Pure African bliss!
Day 7: Maputo (Meals: B) Today we will explore the streets of Maputo. We travel the streets by car and foot, exploring the markets and the historic sites. Maputo is a city of contrast, where poor, rich, new and old live together in harmony. As you stroll through the streets you will come across 17th century architecture alongside 21st century modern day buildings. It is truly a site to see.
We will visit the Eiffel Building, the Portuguese Fort, old Railway Station, several markets and if time permits take a short cruise across the Maputo Bay. After a full days sightseeing, we travel out to Costa do Sol the oldest and most famous of seafood restaurants in Mozambique.
Days 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12: Maputo to Barra (Meals: B & D) Enjoy a lazy morning or some additional sightseeing, before you guide escorts you to Maputo Airport. Here you will say your goodbye to your guide, before catching your onward flight to Inhaca Island

Casa Rex is situated mere footsteps from the beach over looking the beautiful powder white sands, and aqua blue waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago. The pristine area offers long secluded mainland beaches, warm water and several tropical islands which boast breath-taking reefs which are home to a diverse array of marine life. It is no wonder the area offers some of the finest diving worldwide. There are also a host of water sports available in the area including world class deep sea fishing, sailing, kayaking, 4x4 echo explorations, island tours, birding excursions, historic tours, cultural experiences and horse riding.
Your Lodge can assist in booking any of the above activities with the local operators, and will be happy to suggest options for you to fill the time, but we don’t think that will be a problem.
Day 13: Mozambique to Johannesburg Unfortunately, this is your final morning in the area. After breakfast and some last minute sightseeing, you will be escorted back to the local airport.
You will then have time to do some final curio shopping in the local markets, where we are sure you will pick up a few fantastic bargains, after-which you will catch your connecting flight to Johannesburg.
