Day 1: Arrive Johannesburg

Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport and meet your Kruger Park safari host, who will introduce you to the beauty of the Lowveld on your scenic 5-hour drive to Sabie and Hazyview.

View Mac Mac Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the panoramic views from God’s Window. If time permits, we will also make a brief stop at the historic mining village of Pilgrim’s Rest.

Check into your luxury guesthouse for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Blyde River Canyon

This morning you will venture to the Elephant Sanctuary, where you will take part in a once in a lifetime experience of walking with Elephants. Each participant "adopts" one of this amazing animals and walks "hand in trunk" as they travle along their feeding routine, and if you wish, you may choose to go for a 25min Elephant Back Ride (optional extra). Afterwich, we continue to Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, where you have the unique opportunity of viewing wild lion, leopard, cheetah, eagles and vultures at close quarters. These animals were found injured, poisoned or orphaned and are given a second chance and released back into the wilds.

We then enter the world famous Kruger National Park. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast 2-million hectare game sanctuary the size of Wales. Hopefully we will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe before we reach camp.

The Kruger Park offers a choice of seven camps, each situated in a different section of the park with its own unique flora and fauna: Skukuza, Letaba, Olifants, Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop, Satara and Berg-en-Dal. Accommodation is in simple but comfortable thatched game park bungalows, with each camp having a restaurant and a small shop.

Check in, settle down and relax in your outdoor bushveld surroundings before enjoying dinner (exact camp subject to availability at time of booking).

Days 3, 4 & 5: Kruger National Park

As you will have the services of a private driver/guide throughout your safari, you will have the flexibility of discussing preferred routes and traveling times with him each day. However we recommend setting off early each morning as the camp gates open (05h30 to 06h00 depending on the season), to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day.

Explore the vast Kruger Plains, which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hopefully we will see at least one of the Big Five today - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino, before returning to camp for breakfast.

The rest of the morning can be spent relaxing at camp, reading or bird watching, before setting out again at the time of your choice (usually the late afternoon) for another game drive.

One game drive per day will be in an open-top game viewing vehicle operated by the Kruger National Park (either early morning, late afternoon or evening), with all other game drives taken with your host in an air-conditioned minibus, as this is more comfortable in the heat of the day. On top of which you will also participate in a game walk escorted by 2 expert Kruger rangers.

With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger Park, we hope to see giraffe, kudu, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals.

In the evening, enjoy the balmy weather and pristine stars of the Southern Sky and Milky Way, as you have never seen them before – including the spectacular Southern Cross.

Day 6: Maputo

This morning, after our final game drive, we leave the Kruger National Park and head out of South Africa to the historical city of Maputo in Mozambique. This beautiful coastal city, will play host to us for the evening.

Check into your luxury hotel, settle-in and relax. In the evening, your guide will take you to Casa do Sol, one of the most amazing sea food restaurants in Africa.

Day 7: Maputo

After a scrumptious buffet breakfast, we depart on our morning tour of Maputo. This experience will take you to the markets, historical sites and cultural locations of this truly remarkable city. After lunch at one of the local cafes, we return to the hotel for an afternoon siesta or some down time on the beach.

In the evening we will visit one the restaurant markets, where you can choose your food before the chef will prepare it for you.

Days 7, 8 & 9: Inhambane - Mozambique

Today, we travel north to Inhambane and Barra, where we will spend the next 3 nights at the amazing Flamingo Bay Water Lodge. This lodge has one of the most amazing locations in Africa, with the chalets built on stilts over the the warm Indian Ocean.

Located on the Manta Coast of Mozambique, Flamingo Bay offers some of the finest diving worldwide and is an experience not to be forgotten. The Unspoilt reefs are home to local Dolphin pods, resident Manta Rays and Whalesharks as well as several Turtle Species, while Seahorses are a common find in the secluded Inhambane estuary. The area boasts over 1000 local fish species, while mammals are not hard to find either, with migrating Humpback Whales a common sighting between August and October, and you just might be likely enough to see the highly endangered Dugong.

The Lodges dive/activities centre is located in between the Coconut trees a mere stones throw from the waters edge.
