Join a four week Field Guide Course which will give you a fully comprehensive understanding of guiding and tracking in South Africa’s wilderness. This course is run in partnership with South Africa’s most acknowledged and respected safari field guide training school and covers all the topics required for level one of the FGASA programme, a qualification recognized by many of South Africa’s Universities. Subjects covered include Ecology, Botany and Taxonomy as well as Tracking, Identification, Weapons Handling and 4x4 Bush Driving. Location Training takes place on the Karongwe Game Reserve, a 9000 hectare privately-owned game reserve situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The reserve is situated approximately 500km northeast of Johannesburg, just north of the Olifants River and at the foot of the magnificent Drakensberg (Dragon) mountains. This is true big five territory within the famous Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve, the African bush at its best. Our wildlife conservation research expedition also runs from this reserve. Accommodation on the Karongwe game reserve is rustic but comfortable, and you will be accommodated in meru style tents.
