Visit the most beautiful national parks of the country, meet the impressive mountain gorillas and take a swim in the deepest lake in Uganda. A unique combination of nature, wildlife and birds! Day 1 : Arrival You will be welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Overnight at Sophie’s Motel. Day 2 : Entebbe – Jinja (3 hours) After breakfast our guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive via Kampala to the east. On our way we can make a stop at Mabira Forest for a hike through one of the most beautiful rain forests in Uganda. Dinner and arrival at Adrift Nile High Camp. Day 3 : Jinja A full day to enjoy the Nile! We will visit the Source of the Nile, the challenging Bujagali Falls and you can stroll in the nice centre of Jinja. Real adventurous people can decide to go rafting at the Nile or maybe experience a quad bike safari through the African countryside (not included). Dinner and overnight at Adrift Nile High Camp. Day 4 : Jinja – Murchison Falls National Park (6 hours) Early in the morning we will depart for the most beautiful protected area in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival we will visit the magnificent falls where you can marvel at the mighty Nile. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp. Day 5 : Murchison Falls National Park After an early morning breakfast you will enjoy a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing elephants, giraffes, lions, hartebeests and a variety of birds. After lunch we will go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp. Day 6 : Murchison Falls National Park – Hoima (3 hours) One more time we will have the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of wildlife and nature on the northern side of the river Nile. In the afternoon departure and transfer to Hoima along Lake Albert. Dinner and overnight at Hoima Crown Hotel. Day 7 : Hoima – Fort Portal (6 hours) Today we head for Fort Portal; a long but beautiful journey through an evergreen countryside. The lovely town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse. Day 8 : Mountains of the Moon Today you can enjoy the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional witchdoctor at his home. We will also make a stop at the Amabere Caves. Discover the small hidden waterfall as we enter the cave and admire the stalagmites, stalactites and pillars. A cultural evening is awaiting you after this impressive day, with traditional dances and songs from different tribes (only available on Sunday). Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse. Day 9 : Kibale National Park & Bigodi Swamp Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp which is initiated through the local community and is famous for the many species of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse. Day 10 : Fort Portal – Queen Elizabeth National Park (4 hours) We transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and as we enter you might spot waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife. After lunch we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy some more of the African wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel. Day 11 : Queen Elizabeth National Park The day begins early as we head for the mating ground of the Uganda kobs. We will also look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat. In the afternoon we will visit the Maramagambo Forest for a walk through the tropical forest. It is known for the Blue Lake and the Bat and Hunters Cave. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel. Day 12 : Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi (5 hours) After breakfast you may choose to go for a hike in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve in search of the chimpanzees (not included). It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, completely covered with tropical rainforest. We continue to Bwindi, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Day 13 : Gorilla tracking The highlight of your primate safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Dag 14 : Bwindi & Buhoma Although Bwindi is mainly known for the gorillas it has a lot more to offer. Today you enjoy a forest walk to some enchanting waterfalls, while you are looking for different types of primates and birds. In the afternoon you can have another type of walk: the Buhoma Village Walk, where you walk through coffee and tea plantations and learn more about the local culture. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Day 15 : Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi (4 hours) After breakfast we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp. Day 16 : Lake Bunyonyi After the challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options here are birding, nature walks, swimming or canoeing (not included). Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp. Day 17 : Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park (4 hours) We drive to Lake Mburo National Park and as we enter the park it is likely that you will spot some wildlife, like impalas, topis, warthogs, zebras and buffaloes. Go on a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the rich bird life and the hippos that are cooling off. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp. Day 18 : Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala (5 hours) Early start of the day as we go for a nature walk guided by a ranger. After breakfast we transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator for photos or shopping. Arrival late in the afternoon in Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Marble Arch. Day 19 : Kampala – Ssese Islands Today we leave the busy capital and drive to Entebbe, from where we will take the ferry to the Ssese Islands. Thanks to the new ship to Kalangala the boat ride will be pleasant and enjoyable. Dinner and overnight at Panorama Camp. Day 20 : Ssese Islands A perfect way to end you safari in Uganda! Enjoy the white beaches, the dense tropical forest where many birds are hiding and the magnificent sunsets. Relax, make a cruise in the evening or join the local fishermen! Dinner and overnight at Panorama Camp. Day 21 : Ssese Islands – Kampala Time to say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa! We return to the mainland, where you will arrive around lunch time. Depending on the time of departure you can visit the Botanical Gardens or Uganda Wildlife Centre. Later transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
