Itinerary Day 1: Arrival Mombasa On arrival Mombasa, you will be picked up from the airport and transfer to Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel. You are booked on half board basis. You will have to worry only about your lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 2: Mombasa - Beach You all this day to relax and acclimatize with the humid conditions. Enjoy the beach and the water sports. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa Serena Hotel. Day 3: Mombasa - City Tour Afte an early breakfast, you are picked friom the Mombasa Serena hotel for a full day city tour of Mombasa town. Sight seeing includes a visit to Fort Jesus (the fortress built by the Portuguese in 1593). Today the fort houses the museum. A short walk through the old town with its narrow twisting alleys, overhanging balconies and carved doors brings you to the harbour. The harbour is still in use and one can find some Arab Dhows operating. A short ride through the center of Mombasa takes you to other points of interest including the market; the huge elephant’s tusks (Metal board) along the Moi Avenue. Across the causeway, to Changamwe to Akamba wood carving industry. This is a cooperative Industry that consists of over 1,900 Members all producing great variety of woodcarvings all at very reasonable prices. After buying the carvings you will proceed to Haller Park. A reclaimed quarry turned into a Garden of Eden. Lunch is at the Whistling Pine Restaurant. Visit the Nature Trail Sanctuary for wild animals where different species of birds and wild animals can be seen. Also found in this Man Made Aden are the giant Tortoise, Fish, snakes, Hippos, Buffaloes, Orlyx, Elands, Giraffes and other variety of wildlife. Evening drop off at your hotel. DAY 4 Mombasa to Tsavo East This morning to depart to get a taste of the Kenya Safari . After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and you the drive about 100km along the Tarmac road in the direction of Nairobi. Enter the famous Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma gate. Tsavo is well known for its population of Red Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, Giraffes, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Ostrich, Impalas and Many types of Gazelles. Occasionally Lions and Cheetahs may be seen. Aquatic birds will be seen at Aruba. A wide variety of animals are usually in the Vicinity of the Dam offering a good opportunity for Photographs. Lunch is at the Voi Safari Lodge. Further game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Voi Wild Life Lodge similar. DAY 5: Tsavo East to Tsavo West Early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast proceed to Tsavo West National Park. On the way, you will visit to Mzima Springs where thousands of gallons of water flow every day from the nearby volcanic Chyulu Hills. Hippos, Fish and Crocodiles can be viewed from a sunken underwater observatory Tank. You arrive Kilaguni Serena Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch relaxation in the lodge till 16.30 hours when you proceed on an afternoon game drive till sunset. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Lodge. DAY 6 Tsavo West to Amboseli Early morning game drives before breakfast. After breakfast you depart for the Amboseli National Park. You drive via the Shaitani lava flow to Amboseli National Park where you arrive in time for lunch. You will relax in the early afternoon till 16.30 hours when you proceed for a game drive around the park and which one of Kenya's most popular spectacular displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or similar. Day 7 Amboseli Early morning game drive around the park and to the Mt. Kilimanjaro viewing point, Africa's highest mountain. The snows of the mountain form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most popular spectacular displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise. Come back for late breakfast then the rest of the morning at leisure enjoying the lodges facilities. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the Park. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Day 8: Amboseli to Mombasa After an early breakfast, you depart with picnic lunch and begin the trip back to Mombasa. With some game drive on the way, you will have lunch on the way. You expect to reach Mombasa in the late afternoon. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 9: Mombasa Beach All day relaxation at the Beach. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel or similar. Day 10: Mombasa – Full day Dhow Trip. Today you are picked up after breakfast and drive to the South coast part of Mombasa. You board the Swahili-type dhow and head into the sea. Snorkelling equipment is provided for those who would like to see the underwater. Lunch is served at Wasini Island with an afternoon tour of the Island. You return to the hotel at around 6pm. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel or similar. Day 11,12 and 13: Mombasa Beach All day relaxation at the beach. Dinner and overnight at the Mombasa Beach Hotel or similar. Day 14: Depart. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport to connect your homebound flight.
