This unique trekking safari takes you the to heart of Selous Game Reserve to areas otherwise not accesible by vehicle. See small and unusual animals such as the ant lion, beatles, spiders. The camp is set in private campsites.
Selous Game Reserve covering 50,000sq km, this is the largest game reserve in Africa. The reserve supports an enormous number of elephants, buffalos and wildebeests. Other rare species include the African Hunting dog. It is also birders’ paradise with over 300 species of birds recorded.
Original trekking safaris
Day 1:
Depart by trains to Selous. G Reserve at 08.30 on arrival your guide and vehicle will be waiting for and immediate transfer camp, late evening game drive and overnight at the fly camp.
Day 2: In today's trekking we will cross the flat grasslands with scartted bushes which gives us a very good opportunity to see Impalas, elands, zebra, wilderbeests and may other animals. After the lunch break start trekking back to the new campsite and overnight, full board.
Day 3: Today trekking will cover 10 kilometers through to the river banks. A birders’ paradise, over 300 spices have been records. Picnic by with a sundowner by the River side and overnight at camp, full.
Day 4; Trek to Lake Tagalala for your boat safari and continue on with a full day game drive. Overnight at lodge, full board.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast for back for Dar es Salaam
