Day 1
Arrive in Cape Town transfer to flight to Port Elizabeth.
Overnight at Beach House on Port Elizabeth’s Beach Front.
Day 2
Free day in Port Elizabeth with accommodation at Beach House.
Day 3
Day trip to the Addo Elephant National Park, which has the highest density Elephant Population in the World. The Park is also being extended at an incredible rate it now covers 125,000 hectares 309,000 acres which is an area 4 times the size of Malta and is expanding to 492,000 hectares 1.2 million acres which will be 1/4 of the Size of Wales and 16 times the size of Malta. The Addo National Park now includes a coastal section home to Africa's largest penguin and gannet population, and has the "big 7" lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo, whale, and great white shark.
Day 4
Breakfast and transfer to the Award winning 5 Star Shamwari Game Reserve. Arrive mid afternoon for an evening game drive followed by a wonderful evening meal in one of the elegant dinning rooms. Shamwari Game Reserve is one of the amazing success stories of the Eastern Cape. Established as recently as 1990 animals hunted to extinction in the 1800,s have been returned to their natural environment. Shamwari is a 20,000 hectare reserve which not only has the "Big Five" but numerous other animals.
Five Star facilities enable visitors to see the conservation efforts first hand and to enjoy excellent service and outstanding accommodation. There are a number of luxury accommodation choices available throughout the reserve. The guides are all passionate and dedicated to the conservation efforts are amazingly knowledgeable about the animals the fauna and flora and the history of the area. A measure of the success of Shamwari Game Reserve is the number of visitors who return year after year eager to see the improvements that have been made since their last visit. Day 5
Full day at Shamwari.
Day 6
Return to Port Elizabeth after breakfast and morning game drive overnight accommodation at Beach House. Township Tour which will include lunch or evening meal.
Day 7
Hire car will be delivered early morning on 1st, leave for one night at Dolphin View Guest House situated on a farm on the cliff top with sea and mountain views visit the Tsitsikamma National Park, take part in one of the adventurous activities offered in the area for those brave enough, the worlds highest bungee jump off the Bloukrans Bridge. Enjoy some of the magic walks in the Tsitsikamma National Park, take a tree top canopy tour suspended in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees, abseiling, mountain biking, horse riding, snorkelling or just take afternoon tea at the rest camp and enjoy the stunning views.
Day 8-10
Drive to Plettenberg spend three nights at Stanley Island, South Africa’s only privately owned island which is near to Plettenberg Bay.
Spend a day visiting Knysna which is a 30 minute drive.
Day 11-12.
Travel on to Oudtshoorn located in the semi desert Karoo. Visit the Kango Caves, stay two nights at Die Opstal a working Ostrich farm, with great accommodation.
The Lodge consists of a group of typical Little Karoo farm buildings, beautifully restored and fitted with modern conveniences, set in lush, tranquil garden surroundings. The complex has a swimming pool and a rustic restaurant where traditional breakfasts and hearty farm-style dinners are served.
Day 13
Drive through to Hermanus and stay overnight at the Whale Cottage Hermanus which is 50 meters from the cliff tops with stunning sea views.
Day 14-15
Leave for the wine growing district and stay two nights at a cottage in a vineyard at Franschhoek.
Franschhoek has some of the finest restaurants in the country; the Monneaux Restaurant close by was awarded the American Express Platinum Fine Dining Award for 2004 and voted one of South Africa's Top 100 Restaurants for 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004.
Day 16- 19
Drive through to Cape Town with accommodation at Breakwater Lodge which is located in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The Lodge a former prison is now a Protea Hotel and is in an ideal location a short walk from the bars and restaurants on the Waterfront and provides comfortable accommodation in a spectacular setting that looks over the bay and up onto Table Mountain.
The ferry terminal for the Robben Island museum is also located close by.
Table Mountain is a 15 minute drive and the City Centre is a 15 minute walk.
Day 20
Final morning at Breakwater Lodge return hire car to the airport,
