I T I N E R A R Y
Day 1: Addis Ababa
Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport where our hospitality begins. We provide you meet-and-greet service at the airport then transfer to 4* hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 2: City tour of Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa is the capital city of Ethiopia. It is also recognized as the seat of the African Union since 1960s. Hence, we take you to the fascinating attractions of the city. The tour includes the National & ethnographic museums, the colorful market, the Trinity Cathedral, the panoramic view of Mount Entoto.
Day 3: Bahir Dar
On this day, drive the 500 kilometers both the asphalt and gravel roads enjoying the scenic beauty and the villages of the Oromo + Amhara people. En route, there will be two major visit stops for 13th century monastery of Debre Libanos and fabulous gorge of Blue Nile. Overnight hotel
Day 4: Bahir Dar
Either morning or after noon (depend on the rainy season) we take you to the spectacular Blue Nile Falls, situated 32 kms from the lake side town of Bahir Dar which is the capital of the Amhara National Regional State. With the remaining time, experience the town of Bahir Dar for its handcrafts center, market and the likes.
Day 5: Gondar
After early breakfast start lake cruising on Tana Lake where you will have wonderful visits of the island monasteries (Lunch on boat). The boat trip will be ended in Gorgora from which you will be picked to Gondar, 60kms. Overnight hotel
Day 6: Gondar
AM city tour of Gondar for its medieval castles compound, beautifully decorated church of Debre Birhan Silassie. PM excursion trip to Kossoye where you see the breathtaking scenery towards the Semien Mountain National Park. On the way back visit the Felasha (the Black Jewish) village.
Day 7: Lalibela
Morning transfer to Gondar Airport to catch a 30 unites flight to Lalibela, a site of the world wonder. Upon arrival drive 25 kms to the hotel situated in the center of Lalibela town. The same day visit the first group rock hewn churches excavated incredibly from a single massive rock in the end of 12 century.
Day 8: Lalibela
AM horse/mule ride excursion to the nearby mountain. While on top you will admire the 13th century rock hewn monastery and the awe-inspiring scenery. NB along the walking or driving route you can visit various species of birds, flowers and plants. Afternoon, visit the second and third groups of the Lalibela churches situated against the sunset.
Day 9: Axum
AM transfer to Lalibela airport for a 45 minute flight to Axum. In Axum, you will visit the age-old stele park, the house of the Ark of the Covenant, the St. Mary Cathedral, ruin palace of Queen Sheba, the inscription of the 4th century king, the archeological museum and the early kings’ tombs. Overnight hotel
Day 10: Addis Ababa
Depend of the time of flight schedule you will fly to Addis Ababa. Evening farewell dinner party in a traditional restaurant and music house then transfer to airport for night departure (return home). End of the tour!
