This semi-participation mobile safari covers some of the best national Parks in Botswana and Zambia incl Moremi, Chobe, Kafue and Victoria Falls. |
Day by Day Itinerary Day 1. arr Maun. Collected by tour operator and drive to community camp site on border of Moremi Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive in private concession area. You will already be in bush and game country Days 2+3. Enter Moremi game reserve, thought by many to be Botswana's finest game viewing Park. Camp for two nights. optional boat and makoro rides into the Okavango are available. Day 4. Crossing the Kwai River, always abundant with game, overnight camp at Savute with game drives looking for the famous resident lion prides. Savute is one of the few areas in Africa where lions have learnt to hunt fully grown elephants. Days 5+6. Continue through Chobe National Park, home of some of the biggest herds of elephant in southern Africa, camp on the banks of the Chobe River to watch the elephant herds as well as hippo drinking and bathing. Day 7. After an early morning game drive along the Chobe River, drive to Kasane, the safari town on the border with Namibia. Overnight camp at a local camp site, (taking optional evening sunset cruise on the Chobe River) Days 8+9. Crossing the Zambezi river by ferry, head for Livingstone in Zambia, home of Mosi-oa-Tunya, Victoria Falls. Overnight at a camp site in the town. (Optional activities include site seeing Victoria Falls, visiting the local markets and sunset cruise, as time allows.) Day 10. Early morning dept from Livingstone to enter Kafue National Park by the southern most gate, travelling north through the Park to bush camp on Nanzila Plains. Days 11+12. Continue north through Park via Itechi-Techi dam, follow a rural road through Game Management Areas, camp for two nights on the Kafue river bank .(Optionally take walks and drives with local guides to explore the game, flora and fauna in the area.) Days 13+14. Crossing the main east/west road, enter the northern sector of Kafue National Park. Camp for 2 nights at a camp site beside the Lufupa River. Optionally game drives during the day in open vehicles or evening river cruises are available as you explore this area. Day 15. early morning dept for Lusaka. Safari ends Disclaimer Whereas the tour operator presents this itinerary in good faith, it is in the nature of a safari that for reasons beyond its control, not all aspects of a itinerary may be available at the time the safari takes place. In this instance, the operator will at its discretion replace certain items, venues or routes with those of a similar or equal nature. A word about this safari. This safari is run on a semi-participation basis, where a driver/guide will accompany you, who will also do the cooking and serve meals. It is expected that clients will erect and take down their own tents and generally lend a hand with camp chores etc. Price. The price of the above safari itinerary of 14 nights is Euro 2,450 per person for a minimum of two people travelling together.
