Day by Day Itinerary This safari starts in Maun, Botswana and ends in Lusaka, Zambia but can also be run the other way, commencing in Lusaka and ending in Maun Day 1. arr Maun. Overnight at a Lodge on outskirts of town in its own game reserve. Day 2. Take a fly-in day trip into the Okavango swamps, enjoy makoro rides and bush walks. Over night camp at a nearby community camp site. Days 3+4. Drive through and camp in Moremi Game Reserve, thought by many as Botswanas top game viewing area. Day 5. Drive along side the game abundant Kwai River and camp for the night in a local community camp site on the river bank. Days 6+7. Camp at Savuti for two nights. This is one of the few places in Africa where lion have learnt to hunt fully grown elephants. Explore the Savuti area looking for the famous resident lion prides. Day 8. Drive to Kasane, the safari town on the border with Namibia. Overnight camp on the banks of the Chobe River. Enjoy an evening sunset river cruise on the Chobe River. Day 9. Crossing the Zambezi river by ferry, head for Livingstone in Zambia, home of Mosi-oa-Tunya, Victoria Falls. Overnight at a tented camp site in the town. Activities include site seeing Victoria Falls, visiting the local markets. ] Day 10. Early morning dept from Livingstone to enter Kafue National Park by the southern most gate, travelling north through the Park to bush camp on Nanzila Plains. ] Day 11. Continue north through Park via Itechi-Techi dam, follow a rural road through Game Management Areas, to ovrernight camp on the Kafue river bank. Game walks and drives with local guides to explore the game, flora and fauna in the area are included. . Days 12+13. Crossing the main east/west road, enter the northern sector of Kafue National Park. Camp for 2 nights at a camp site beside the Kafue River. Game drives during the day as we explore this and the Busanga Plains area. Day 14. Driving south through Park to camp for the final night at a tented lodge near the river. Game drives with local guides or a final evenings sunset cruise on the Kafue river is included) Day 15. dept for Lusaka.
