YOUR ITINERARY
Day 1:
Highlights: WINELANDS AREA and HISTORIC STELLENBOSCH
Arrival in Cape Town. Your guide meets you at Cape Town International Airport.
Today we visit the Winelands area to see some of the Cape Dutch wine farms in this area, including a cellar tour; wine tastings and the opportunity buy wine.

We have time to enjoy the quaint town of Stellenbosch – South Africa’s second oldest town and home to the famous University of Stellenbosch. Here we stop at ‘Oom Samie se winkel’, a shop with a wonderful historical flavour and also some of the other beautiful heritage sites in the town, including the Stellenbosch Museum.
Overnight: Stellenbosch

Day 2:
Highlights: HAROLD PORTER BOTANICAL GARDENS, FERNKLOOF NATURE RESERVE
Drive along the beautiful False Bay Coast line through the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve and stop at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. Pollination, seed dispersal and germination - there is always something happening and a story to be told.
Visit Fernkloof Nature Reserve - This predominantly fynbos reserve is conveniently situated almost in the centre of Hermanus and all along the coast and gives very easy access to a number of the region’s special bird and plant species.
Overnight: Hermanus

Day 3:
Highlights: MARINE BOAT TRIP, LOCAL CHEESE FACTORY, WINE TASTING
Enjoy the opportunity to go out on a Marine Boat excursion with the possibility of seeing penguins, dolphins, Cape Fur Seals and Great White Sharks.
Also have the opportunity to visit a wine estate and cheese factory.
Overnight: Hermanus

Day 4:
Highlights: SCENIC SIR LOWRY’S PASS DRIVE TO CAPE TOWN, TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM
Drive through the Overberg, over the scenic Sir Lowry’s Pass back towards Cape Town.
In the afternoon visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, a great opportunity to learn more about the astounding marine diversity found here at the tip of the African continent.
Overnight: Cape Town

Day 5:
Highlights: KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS, SILVERMINE NATURE RESERVE
Breathtaking Kirstenbosch, one of the world's most famous botanical gardens and renowned for the splendour and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Be enriched by the incredible beauty of the Cape Floral Kingdom at its best. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country. An exquisite trip no visitor to Cape Town can go without.
In the afternoon there will an opportunity for a gentle hike in Silvermine Nature Reserve, which has many manageable walks with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Noordhoek valley.
Walking in the Cape Mountains is special, because you can experience the pleasure of Fynbos (our indigenous vegetation), savour the various scents and enjoy the pretty flowers and birds. All this is right in the middle of a city, which is sometimes easy to forget. It is quite possible to find yourself a nook in the mountains where no human habitation is visible or audible. At other times one can see from a humbling distance the full extent of the civilization way below.
Overnight: Cape Town

Day 6:
Highlights: CAPE POINT, AFRICAN PENGUINS
A tour to Cape Point in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Table Mountain National Park and is managed by the South African National Parks. The Nature Reserve is recognized globally for its extraordinary land formation, rich and diverse fauna and unique flora.
Fauna includes, to name a few, the mountain zebras, antelope, about 160 species of birds and several troops of baboons. Nowhere else in the world does an area of such spectacular beauty and rich biodiversity exist almost within a metropolitan area - the thriving and cosmopolitan City of Cape Town.
Also included in this ecological tour is a visit to Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, where there will be unsurpassed opportunities for photography and observation of the rare African Penguin. From mating to molting, breeding to bathing, their daily lives are played out within a few meters of fascinated visitors.
Overnight: Cape Town

Day 7:

Highlights: TABLE MOUNTAIN
Visit one of South Africa's most famous landmarks Table Mountain (Weather dependent)
The rocky outcrops and steep cliffs of the mountain play home to a number of plants and animals. Table Mountain alone is home to approximately 1470 species of plants - more than the entire British Isles. Many of these are endemic (meaning they occur nowhere else on Earth).
Exhilarating trip in a rotating cable car to the top of Table Mountain where the Dassie (Rock Hyrax), the closest living relative to the elephant, roam wild. Be guided through the natural wonders on the flat quartzite top whilst enjoying an awe-inspiring view of the Cape of Storms.
Afternoon at leisure
