Itinerary

South Africa - Kruger Park Private BIG 5 Safari

Highlights:
3 Days Safari (Half day safaris on first and last day); Buffet Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 1:
Early morning (before 09:00) you are picked up from the airport or your hotel. Soon you leave the concrete jungle behind as you travel across the eastern Highveld towards Mpumalanga. The first two hours of your journey takes you past maize fields, grasslands, coal mines, power stations to the edge of the escarpment. As you decent down the escarpment you can sense the change in climate and see the vegetation changing. At Nelspruit you will pass through the subtropical Lowveld region and continue to Kruger Park.

After check-in at the park's entry gate you are straight onto our first game drive. This short game drive brings you to your restcamp - your home for the next three days.

You have time to unpack, relax, put your feet up or scout the camp environment. Mid afternoon is time for your next game drive - search for Giraffe, Kudu, Zebra, etc.... and yes the BIG 5: Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo.

Back at the restcamp you enjoy a sundowner drink, listen to the sounds of the African Bush. After a multi course restaurant dinner you can enjoy the stars that fill the African sky before heading to bed.
Overnight: Kruger National Park Restcamp
Meals: Dinner.

Day 2:
Today is a full day Safari! As you travel through the park your guide will share his knowledge about the history of the park, animals - big and small, birds and other creatures found in the park.

Remember:
Because of the small groups you will almost have an one-on-one experience with your guide - he will share many years' knowledge about the African bush.

Breakfast will be at a rest camp or picnic spot inside the park after which you continue your game drive.

Around mid-day you will have a well deserved stop for lunch - the restaurants at the rest camps offer a large variety. Your choice to enjoy a buffet or only a take away.

After lunch you will have a short siesta before you continue with your afternoon game drive. You visit some waterholes, scenic stops and vista viewpoints - the ideal opportunity to take that picture that show the wide plains of Africa.

As the sun set in the west you will return to camp. A sumptuous dinner bring this exiting day to a close.

Overnight: Kruger National Park Restcamp
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 3:
Early morning you do our first game drive and return to camp for breakfast. Check-out is after breakfast and you do our last game drive enroute to the exit gate early afternoon.

2. We are managed hands-on by the owner. He often does these safaris himself and has more than 30yrs experience in the Kruger Park. He advises every safari as to which area in this vast 2 million hectare park is the best for game viewing at the point and time.

Comment: Excellent tour, lot to see....our guide Nico was just great, looking for everything to make us comfortable. The drive was excellent, the timing was made for us, stops as we wanted, so all near perfection.

Please keep this level of quality without raising the prices

Comment: We have completed the Safari last Friday and all we can say is that we really had a great experience.

The guide we had was very much prepared, very Knowledgeable and experienced. He gave us a lot of tips on how to make our Safari an enjoyable one. He also had an amazing flair on how to spot animals that we could not dream of spotting if we did it on our own.

We were not much lucky with the amount of animals we saw but at least we managed to see 4 out of the BIg 5. We only missed the Leopard. But still Nic, our guide dida lot of efforts to try and spot as many animals as he could.

Comment: Overall we had an excellent experience. The guide, Andre, was outstanding. The food and the vehicle were great. Our only complaint is that the lodging at Skukuza was not as nice as we had expected. It was generally clean and secure, but not luxurious by any means.

We would also, in retrospect, have preferred to receive a choice of airlines and flights to Mpumalanga, as the flights that were arranged for us turned out to be much less convenient than if we had been able to fly on SAA (since the rest of our tickets were on SAA).

I would happily recommend this tour to friends or family, particularly if Andre is available as the guide.

Thanks for helping provide this experience for us.

Comment: Myself, my wife and our four children (aged 10, 9 and twins 4) had a great time on our recent Safari in Kruger Park. Our guide Cecil made a special effort to meet us at the International Airport because our flight had been delayed.

The vehicle was highly suitable for a family group and the children had a great time, being able to lie out on the back platform though still safe inside the vehicle. We saw a large number of park animals and birds over the two days and some at close quarters. Cecil was a fund of knowledge and stimulated the children's interest in the Park and the animals.

Our accommodation in the park was in a large air-conditioned cottage which was very comfortable and the meals provided by Cecil on the tour were fantastic.

We would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending this tour especially for families with young children.
