Comment: The operator was not interested in being a tour guide, they were only interested in how many tourist shops they could get us into so we would by tourist items at ridiculously high prices.

They took us to the prymids and after a couple of minutes lecture, told us to walk around on our own for 15 minutes and then get back into the van. They were in such a hurry to get us to the next tourist store (perfume) that they let us out in the middle of the road, told us to take a look at the sphinx, over the 5 foof wall, about 100 yards from it, take a picture, and then get back into the van. They were consistantly trying to get us to buy additional tour packages. When we went to the valley of the kings, the tour guide left us at the front enterance, told us a little about the gaves, and told us to go look at them on our own, while he sat in the shade. Even after protesting that we did not want to stop at any more tourist shops, they purposely ignored our request and made us stop at yet another stone shop.

They would pass us over to tour guides as if we were stupid american tourist. It was the wrost experience we have ever had in the 30 years of traveling and touring all over the world. I never felt so violated. If these people are a representation of egyptians, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Tour Operators Reply:

We feel that this feedback from Mr/Irving Meyer is not fair at all .

- He started his tour from 0900 till 1630 (the pyramids close 1630 ) I think it is enough time to visit the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids & Sphinx .

- The tour guide always asks the clients if they want to go to any market (they can say Yes or No ). His wife said yes, so they visited 2 tourist shops ( as his wife requested, we did not push him at all)

- when they were at the Pyramids & Sphinx his wife was tired and she was not able to go to see the Sphinx, she sat in the car and he went alone with Rash the guide .

- I made a contact with them and he told me that he need to visit the, Pyramids & Sphinx again I send him the car free of charge. ( he did not tell me any thing about tourist shops or any problem with Rash )

- No guide can go to inside the tomb at the valley of the kings (not allowed, it is the rule ) all the tour guides explain the story and give the clients free time to take a look inside the tomb.

I was very sorry to received these comments from Mr Meyer but I do feel his feedback is not justified. We do our utmost to please all our clients, as the comments we have received from other clients will show, but we do realise that it is difficult to please everybody .

Comment: We have recently returned from a tour of Egypt during August 2005 with which we found though your website the Africa Guide and booked with the operator via the Internet.

The service provided by the company was excellent from start to finish and we were very impressed with the way everything was so well organised even down to the tour representative assisting us through customs on arrival and assistance at check in for our internal flights.

Pickup times for tours was always prompt and the services and information provided by the guides we had was excellent. Any nightime tours on offer were at an additional extra cost but well worth doing. The hotels chosen for us were very good and all provided good food and an excellent service and even the venues we were taken to for lunch during the tours
were excellent.

We needed an extra days hotel stay for our return journey to the UK and the company arranged this for us aswell along with transportation to the airport. Overall we had a brilliant stay and would not hesitate in recommending this tour company to anyone who is
thinking of holidaying in Egypt.

It was so pleasant to see that Italians are so welcome in Egypt, I was always welcomed as "Italian cousin". I was really deeply touched. Please would you pass a message of thanks onto Rasha, Ahmed and Foad.
