Call of the Kruger Safari

Day by day tour itinerary
01 Mpumalanga, Greater Kruger, Private Lodge D
02 – 03 Kruger National Park – game drives Bx2 Lx2 Dx2
04 Kruger National Park – morning game drive, Johannesburg B

Day 1
From Johannesburg we travel east into Mpumalanga and greater Kruger, stopping to view some of the sights along the ‘panoramic route’. On arrival at camp we relax, unwind and overnight.

Day 2 – 3
We rise early and transfer into open safari vehicles for two days of game driving in Kruger National Park. This is South Africa’s ‘flagship’ reserve with some two million hectares of unrivalled diversity. With over 500 species of birds, 150 species of mammals (including some 12,000 elephants), some 100 reptiles, 23,000 plant species, and a variety of amphibians– this is one of the world’s great reserves. We have time to explore the wilderness and hope to see Africa’s ‘Big Five’ - elephant, rhino, leopard, lion and buffalo – as well as the lesser known (but no less rewarding) varieties. Keep in mind when game driving that we are searching for wildlife in its natural habitat, not on a ‘wildlife park’. There is an enormous variety of wildlife here but we need to search to find it; keep camera and (or) binoculars at the ready – catching sight of lion, elephant, rhino, or antelope in the wild makes the driving and waiting worthwhile!

Day 4
We enjoy final animal sightings as we leave the park before we transfer back to Johannesburg where our tour ends in the late afternoon.
