This trip: 3 Days budget Camping Safari to Masai Mara Kenya

Our holiday was great! We have returned to the cold Europe again...
The trip to Masai Mara was ok, we were not so happy with everything, but anyhow... it was a low-budget trip and this surely affects the quality.
Some things were a little annoying, the cooling-box in the car was empty... not that we expected free drinks... no, but we thought it was a little pity for the driver... (he asked us to give him a bottle of water from the - empty - box... so we had to give him one of our bottles...)
Then there had not been any coordination with the balloon-flight we booked, nobody could say when this flight should happen and it seemed a little chaotic. But the flight itself was absolutely gorgeous and the champagne-breakfast was the best breakfast I had in my life!
What was really disturbing us was the loud radio in the car! The driver did not seem to look so much for animals for himself, he just listened to the other reports and went there (so we came to a queue of 15 cars or more...). The loud noise of the radio destroyed a peaceful nature-experience (and even chased away some animals). We said it to the driver but he mentioned we would perhaps miss soemthing.
On the way back the driver took a wrong way and couldn't find the right one, we had to go on very tiny tracks for over 1 hour... but in fact that was GREAT, so we happened to cross remote areas where we really got the feeling that there have not been many tourists yet.
The Sidai Camp was ok, but very basic, and someone has to tell them that lightning in the restaurant is horrible, it's blinding...
But we know that we were on low-budget (so that we could effort the balloon-trip)... :)
So, the driver (Onesmus) was a very nice guy, we liked him very much, but it would perhaps been better to have a Masai as a guide when going to the Masai Mara!
Tour Operators Reply:
We apologize for not satisfying the clients as should always be the case.
Empty Cooling Box: We had intended to buy water as clients leave Nairobi. But spent 2 hours looking for the clients who were staying in residential area but the directions were not easy.
Coordination of the Balloon Booking: This was a last minute booking. We had tried our best to organize the flight and we were not told the time of the take off. We take full responsibility for this.
Loud Radio, Driver Lost: Apologies, we have taken necessary actions against the driver. We promise this will not happen again.
Mara Sidai camp lighting: We shall communicate this to the camp.
Use of Maasai as guide: Good suggestion. God-willing we shall try our best
All in all; we highly regret the inconvenience caused to Jan and Aurel. We also would like to thank them for the feed back as it does help us become better at the services we provide.

As a first time visitor to Kenya and subsequently Maasai Mara I would like to articulate my absolute amazement at the meticulouos planning and perfect arrangements made for both travel and stay for the duration of my visit. I would like to compliment personally Erik who, with his constant updates and efforts, made it possible for me to carry out this Safari. Levis who is based in Nairobi coordinated my travel with utmost care extending the personal touch which at once made me both comfortable and sure about the choice I had made in selecting this company for my travels.
Tobi our driver made an impossibly hard drive very manageable. With the condition that the road is in, it did require a special skill which he showed while negotiating the uneven surface and mud tracks! His enthusiasm and commitment to show us as much as possible never wained. His levels of knowledge when it came to the types of animals and their behaviour patterns was quite amazing.
The trip was both memorable and exciting and having come back I would confidently recommend a safari even to the less adventerous.

Our driver was fantastic, very safe and extremely knowledgeable. He was eager to please and to ensure we had the best possible time and we enjoyed the trip immensely! There was plenty of food but perhaps the menu could be reviewed.
All in all we had a great time, plenty of animals, would definately use them again.

Myself and my sister went on a 3 day camping safari to the Masai Mara. It was absolutely wonderful.
Our driver was very knowledgable of the animals and the area, and our cook was great. The camping was good fun and very adequate. We got very close to all animals in the mara, and the views were spectacular. Fantastic.
The only drawback was that there was confusion over where we were to be collected on the morning we left, and were nearly 3 hours late in leaving.
