Day 1 – 2 Our tour begins in Johannesburg, the ‘City of Gold’ and one of the most cosmopolitan cities on the African continent. Starting early, we travel east through the Mpumalanga province to the Greater Kruger area. Kruger is South Africa’s premier national park and connecting with parks in adjoining Mozambique and Botswana, covers 24,000 square kilometres of land used in the protection of African wildlife!
We enjoy a full day’s game viewing in the national park, seeking wildlife encounters with Africa’s ‘Big Five’ - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard - as well as giraffe, hippo, zebra, various antelope and a variety of amazing birdlife and reptiles.
Day 3 – 5 Leaving Kruger, we move north through the rural Waterberg region before crossing into Botswana. A vast sparsely populated country, Botswana is wealthy in mineral resources - mainly diamonds. We pass through Francistown and the tiny settlement of Nata on the long drive to Kasane in the north. We camp near Chobe National Park with the option to take a game viewing boat cruise in the park. Sit back, relax and watch elephant, buffalo and hippo in the river shallows. Chobe is also known for its prolific birdlife, especially the beautiful fish eagle.
Day 6 On the last Day of the tour we cross into Zambia by ferry at Kazangula and drive to Livingstone and our camp on the banks of the Zambezi River. Just downstream is Victoria Falls, one of the most spectacular sights in Africa and the perfect place to enjoy the activities on offer.
Day 7 Today our tour ends after beakfast for your onward travels.
