Comment: Just a note to say how special our safari was. From meeting us at the airport, even with a delay,to the stay at the marvellous Impala hotel, to the safari itself and a final transfer to the airport.

The punctuality by John our guide and Abu our cook plus their attention to detail were admirable. The skills, knowledge and enthusaism was very much appreciated by us both. We saw more animals, with a greater variety, than we could have hoped for. Each day was inspiring and our meals were of local, fresh produce and very tasty.

Finally thanks to Peniel for his tireless efforts to organise this special week and his prompt replies to all our e-mails.

Comment: Thank you very much for an incredible trip.

Everything concerning the accomodations, guides, transprortation and wildlife viewing exceeded our expectations.

Peniel was very professional and took care of all the details concerning the 5 day Safari. Geoffery, our guide, was an excellent travelling companion, wildlife finder, safety manager and teacher.

We strongly recommend using this tour operator for your once in a lifetime safari to Tanzania.

Comment: I am happy to reply with feedback on the really fantastic trip we took.

The tour operator did a professional job from beginning to end. We were met as planned at every juncture.

Our agent (Neema) was helpful all along the way during the planning. Our guide (Partson) quickly became friends to us. He was knowledgeable and professional. I am recommending them to friends at this time, and strongly suggesting they ask for the same guide.

We toured a different park in Tanzania each day, and slept in a different lodge ech night. The accommodatnios ands the food were excellent. We saw all the big five as well, which is rare for a first trip.

All in all, it was a perfect trip.

Comment: It was fantastic safari!

Our driver/guide Huruma is an experienced guide and we saw at least 10 lions, cheetahs, leopard, 50 or more hippos, hundrets of elephants, zebras lots of giraffes and 5 black rhinos, one leopard eating his prey and later crossing the road just in front of our Toyota 4 Runner. We took over 2000 exeptional pictures!

We had very good cook ( Aboo ). He prepared for us fantastic breakfasts, lunches and suppers. We were camping and it was very rewarding experience. We organized our tour with Mwanaid, 26 years old female tourist consultant from Arusha. She booked our hotel and return bus tickets from Arusha to Mombasa, Kenya.

Great people, highly recommended!!!

Comment: We had a fantastic safari in northern Tanzania, thanks to the excellent guide and organizational service provided by the operator.

Our guide, Huruma, was extremely knowledgeable about mammals and especially birds, which was an added (and unexpected) bonus, as I am a bird-lover as well. Huruma was patient, witty and very friendly, and went out of his way to take us to places where he thought we could see special birds. Our cook Abu made highly varied, delicious vegetarian meals, which was also a surprise.

The only thing that was not easy about the experience was paying - we forwarded the deposit via bank transfer and paid the remainder in cash on arrival.

But other than that, we give the experience a 10 out of 10 score

Comment: After inquiring about the tour package I asked for a customized tour as I wanted to see and do things in other places than what was offered in the package. Our trip was very professionally organized and in a very timely manner. Everything that was outlined in the itinerary was provided. There were no unpleasant surprises.

We dealt with a Mr. Seif Mohamed who was very professional and organized our trip with no glitch.

Our guide and driver, Huruma, spoke good English, was very knowledgeable, courteous and ever so obliging. Our vehicle was cleaned every day and we were never rushed at any place.

Thank you for making our safari a very memorable one! For integrity, professionalism, organization and a wonderful safari, the safari operator come out in flying colours in my books.

Thank you, Africa Guide for referring us.

Comment: We were very satisfied with our safari and felt the operator delivered the services we expected.

The two of us felt very relaxed and comfortable with Naiman, our guide and driver. He was very knowledgeable and conversed easily in English. Each of the four parks was unique and during the five days we saw everything but the elusive leopard. The accommodation and food at the safari lodges was very good.

We did quite a bit of research for a safari operator and found them, they offered the best price for quality of product, and they delivered.

I would not hesitate to recommend this operator to others.

Comment: The safari operator was competent.

They delivered everything they promised which resulted in a memorable safari.

The key was providing us with a superb driver/guide, Apollo. He had a smile from ear to ear and an attitude to match as well as being well informed and anxious to satisfy. The tent camps and lodges were great.

We'll use this firm again.

Comment: We just enjoyed the most exciting 7-day Tanzanian safari!

My husband and I returned to Africa with our three teenaged children so they could experience first hand Africa and all it has to offer. We booked our safari with this operator and I will admit that I was nervous about wiring that amount of cash to someone I had never met on the internet!

When we arrived, we were greeted by our airport shuttle service and wisked off to our hotel. All of the accommodations were great - Not all were 5-star, but they certainly were clean, well managed and friendly.

I suggest people try a tented camp at least once if they schedule a safari. We stayed at two - Wild Africa Lodge and Tarangire River Camp - during our 7 days and they were wonderful. These are tents with wood floors, decks, furniture and a full bathroom. They are tastefully decorated - and nothing like "camping"!

I would not hesitate to use Africa Guide and this operator again! Thanks for the memories!

Comment: Our safari was great. They did everything they promised and even more. We had a very good guide and very good cook. They listened what we said and tried always do everything to be good for us. We saw almost everything, lions hunting, cheetahs hunting, leopard, cerval cats, rhinos, giraffes just beside our car, elephants... The tents we used were excellent, better than I have at home :). I can't think anything to complain. And price was same that I agreed with them through internet, no problems in that too. And even weather was great :).

Trip: Uganda and Tanzania - Gorilla tracking and Great Serengeti Migration experience
Rating: rating 5/5
Comment: The contacts were great and gave lots of help always replying promptly . The trip went well, very well organised and we did see what we wanted to – including the trip to the Gorillas – amazing.

Our guide/driver was excellent – a very careful and good driver on sometimes appalling roads, he was also a great game spotter – we got a marvellous experience of tree climbing lions!

One of the unexpected highlights was the trips on the boats – to Kazinga channel, to the Murchison falls and to the source of the Nile. Especially in the first two – we had great game viewing from the comparatively cool of the boat with excellent close up views of a wide variety of animals. While Uganda does not have the huge numbers of game we have seen in say Botswana and Kenya – this way of seeing them was great and could be promoted for Uganda.

I will certainly recommend this operator to others.

Comment: Starting in Kenya at Masai Mara national park in mid September was perfect. Rhino camp was great , food delicious. We saw all the big 5 on our first day.

We moved on to Tanzania on our 3rd day overnighting on Lake Victoria, Serenity on the lake. Wow, beautiful grounds and exceptional lodge and again delicious meals.

Next day relaxing on the lake followed by a safari on the Serengeti. Again an abundance of animals migrating south, more large herds of Zebra and Wildebeest.

We camped over night at Acacia Camp on the Serengeti, magnificent luxury tent, beautiful lounge and dinning room. We remained on the Serengeti, more incredible vistas and wildlife, overnighting at the Lobo Wildlife Lodge A must visit.

Over the next 7 days we visited Lake Natron, the Rift Valley, Manyara Park and Lodge and the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater and Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge. We just marveled at this place.
We then visited Tarangire National Park staying at the beautiful Rioka Tented Lodge.

We travelled back to Kenya making one last stop at another beautiful Lodge, Amboseli Kibo Safari Lodge.

All of our accommodations were excellent, clean, friendly staff, great hosts for visitors to their country. Delicious meals and not to forget we had a picnic lunch packed for us most days. A safari picnic was unexpected, however one of the highlights of our vacation.

This safari package for my wife and myself was wonderful. Our accommodations, meals, transportation, cultural visits exceeded our expectations. Thanks to you we saw the great vistas and animal life of Kenya and Tanzania in comfort and safety.

I would happily recommend this to anyone planning a visit to Africa.

Comment: I had a wonderful time. As a single woman I felt very safe... Which I was concerned about. My driver was fabulous!

I'm raving to my friends about you and the Salt Lick Lodge and the reasonable cost of the trip.

I hope to return on a much better flight schedule. I understand Mombasa is closer.

Rating: rating 4/5
Comment: We did book our 4 days /3 nights safari in Amboseli and the safari operator was very good and very helpful, they really give us some good advise.

They proposed Kibo camp which is a tented lodge. Kibo was a very good camp , the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The driver /guide provided to us was very, very good, knowledgable and very friendly and made our trip very enjoyable. The 4x4 vehicle was of good standard

Comment: Our family of five have just been on safari to Ruaha, Mikumi and Selous. We had a great time and saw a leopard, cheetah, over 30 lions and hundreds of elephants.

We were very satisfied with the service. Elifasi in the office was very helpful and patient in organising the itinerary.

The guide/driver Imanuel was excellent in spotting and finding wildlife.

The lodges were all of a good standard for both accommodation and food. We reduced the costs by staying at lodges just outside the park gates.

This was very good value for money and we would have no hesitation recommending or using them again.

Trip: Big Five Safari in Tanzania - 7 days
Rating: rating 4/5
Comment: The trip was very good and our guide was very good as well. The safari operator gave us confidence while we were planning our trip and they responded quickly with our enquiry.

We are so great to see many wild animals especially big five in the national parks. We had the chance to see the lions hunting but they failed. The African Tulip is very good and we can order food from their dinner manual while other hotels were providing dinner buffet with similar dishes.

The trip could score 8. It was really a very remarkable trip for our couple.

Comment: I am very happy to provide feedback on our recently completed trip to Tanzania.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time on all our days in Tanzania and couldn't have asked for a better guide than Apollo.

Despite the odd puncture, which seems to be an occupational hazard for any vehicle which drives on unmade-up roads, the entire trip went off without a hitch.

We were happy with the hotels that we stayed in and all the other parts of the trip that could be controlled by the tour operator, although to the surprise of our guide we preferred the Sopa hotels we stayed in to the Serena hotels.

The only downside was that the animals at times didn't co-operate by coming into close range for taking photos, but that's not something the tour operator can control and we don't consider that we can blame them for that (just our bad luck in some respects)

We would have no hesitation in recommending this safari operator to anyone, especially if they are lucky enough to get Apollo as their guide, and would rate the entire experience as a 9 out of 10 holiday. (we have been to quite a few places in the world including the Galapagos Islands, Borneo, China, India, Hong Kong and Japan and have yet to rate anything a 10. But this last trip has probably come the closest)

Trip: East Africa Safari - Tanzania and Kenya
Rating: rating 5/5
Comment: I just returned from a 13 day safari to Kenya and Tanzani. It a was fantastic trip and the price was great too !! It was my second trip to Africa and my first with this tour operator.

We were 4 women (aged 25-69) and we had our own private safari vehicle in both Kenya and Tanzania. This is very important, especially for first time safari travelers, to have your own window even with the pop-up top. The vehicle we had seated 9, but it was our private vehicle as promised by the safari operator. We saw countless safari vehicles so packed with people that it was obvious that not everyone would have a great view.

We first went to Kenya, then Tanzania, then back to Kenya to spend our final night at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi. The guide for Kenya was Jonathon. He was wonderful, the best! Reliable, knowledgeable about the parks, the animals and so accommodating that when we returned to Nairobi after Tanzania we asked for him again. I just can't say enough good things about Jonathon. He was there upon our arrival in Nairobi and for the next 8 days in Kenya. When I lost my battery charger he found a place for me to replace it and drove me into the town. (warning...the lodges we stayed at did not carry camera equipment). Saw the Big 5, saw the aftermath of a kill, saw lions, giraffe, leopard, cheetah...you name it, we saw it - every day!

Our guide for Tanzania was Apollo and again we had the best guide in Tanzania. Apollo clearly loves his job and is so enthusiastic its infectious. He is very knowledgeable and fun to be with...great sense of humor as he loved to tease us. Apollo also was very accommodating (stopping when we screamed "simama" because we saw a shop we wanted to spend some time in or we wanted to back up for a certain picture. When we were in the Serengeti he pulled over to the side of the road because he spotted a male lion. (both of our guides had vision that's hard to believe) Right after we pulled up the lion came out of the high grass, walked across the road in back of our truck, then came around to the front and sat down in the road in front of us. Amazing! This is how we saw many animals, up close and personal.

We also got to meet Chislon, our agent, in Arusha. I can't tell you how many emails we sent back and forth to get the final itinerary. He worked very hard for us to get exactly what we wanted.

The food and accommodations were great, especially the SOPA Lodges. You will never go hungry. Too much food...we all gained weight! The one place I wasn't comfortable in was the Katikati Tented Camp in Serengenti. I think this would be wonderful for families but it was a little too rough-hewn for us older women. The 25 year old didn't mind it at all...she said that's what camping is about.

Our final night was spent at Giraffe Manor. This is very pricey but well worth it. You get to feed the giraffes up close and they even come to your bedroom window for food. You can also have breakfast with them as they stick their heads in the dining room. The really cater to you at Giraffe Manor and if you can afford to splurge this is the place to do it, even if only for one night.

Our itinerary was Samburu Reserve, Mount Kenya, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara in Kenya, then Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the Crater, Tarangire National Park, Arusha in Tanzania and then Giraffe Manor in Nairobi.

It was a very busy itinerary and my only regret was not scheduling time in Zanzibar between Kenya and Tanzania.

About our trip providers and reviews

Our Trip Providers

We carry out extensive company checks on all our providers, over 20 years we have built strong personal relationships with each of them, which assures you of an unparalleled service, great value and the trip of a lifetime.
We have participated in many of the trips found here (we have a nice job) and make our own independent assessments of the services provided, ensuring they meet with our own high standards.

All the trips are supplied by the end provider of that trip.
You may find the same or similar trips elsewhere, usually these are offered by an agent.
We prefer to give you direct access to the trip provider for reasons outlined below:

  1. Best price.
The price you see here is the direct trip price set by the provider, the same price as purchasing directly with them (which is how it works), there are no added commissions.
This means you are not paying an agents commission and the provider is receiving their fully budgeted trip cost.
(agents can demand discounts from providers as well as adding commissions to the providers trip price)
  2. Easy customisation.
By booking directly with the end provider, making changes is quick and easy.
  3. Fast problem solving.
On the rare occasion that an issue may arise before or during your trip, by dealing directly with the end provider, problem solving is quick and efficient.
  4. Helping Africa help itself.
The most straightforward way to assist the economic opportunities and conditions for local people across Africa, is by direct financial interaction with people in Africa. In a nutshell "Tourism".
This kind of direct tourism gives opportunity to local people.

We limit the number of providers we work with in order to strike a balance between a good choice of trips and to be sure we can honestly recommend the service and validity of each provider.
Because the majority of trips can be customised by the providers, the choice of trip configurations is in the tens of thousands.

Our Reviews

We have 3,000+ reviews for our trips and providers.
All our reviews are fully qualified, we do not take unqualified reviews.
We show all reviews, the good and the critical (very few). Our providers have the ability to respond to reviews and those responses are shown alongside the review.
Acquiring genuine reviews is actually very hard, for our genuine travellers we make this an easy process but many people although satisfied with the service they received do not leave a review.

Many reviews on the internet can be left by an open process with little or no checks.
At best unqualified reviews are worthless, at worst they are misleading. We never take unqualified reviews.

We hope you find a trip to your liking and we are here to assist.

Wishing you happy travels...
