Day 1:
Transfer to Hotel; Briefing by guide and general orientation about the trip. 20 minutes from the airport. Meal plan: H/B. Overnight at East African Villas.

Day 2
Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times such as Kigali Solaire, Stade regional, Kigali Genocide memorial site, Kandt Museum, Belgian camp, Kanombe presidential museum etc. The tour takes minimum 4 hours. Transfer to Bugesera in the afternoon to visit the reconciliation village, Nyamata and Ntarama genocide churches. Transfer time is 50 minutes and the tour takes 3 hours. Meal plan: F/B. Overnight – Golf Hills Residence

Day 3
Transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu to relax in the afternoon. Swimming in Lake Kivu or in a swimming pool is optional but consider the current advice of guide. Transfer time is 3 hours drive. Meal plan: F/B. Overnight: - Parades Marahide hotel.

Day 4 T
our Gisenyi town. Transfer to Kibuye, en-route view the virgin islands of Lake Kivu and thrilling life experiences and styles of the typical local Rwandan in their farms, markets along the Congo-Nile Trail etc. On arrival at Hotel Bethane in Kibuye, refresh and prepare for an evening boat ride on Lake Kivu to go visit Napoleon’s and Peace (Amahoro islands). Dinner at the island and back to the hotel. Meal plan: F/B. Overnight: - Bethane Hotel.

Day 5
Transfer to Cyangugu – Rusizi; the drive takes you through magnificent hills conquered by unique terracing on the stretching Congo – Nile trail. It takes about 4 hours driving on this trail. On arrival, refresh and relax on the shores of Lake Kivu. Meal plan: Breakfast/Packed lunch/Dinner. Overnight: - Peace Guest House.

Day 6:
Have early breakfast at 4:30 am then depart from hotel at 5am for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park. This may take a few hours but certainly leaves great memories to the clients. In the afternoon, visit tea plantations to learn about tea production in Rwanda. Breakfast/Packed lunch/Dinner. Overnight: - Gisakura guest house.

Day 7:
Breakfast at 6am then drive to Uwinka to enjoy the canopy walk or visit the waterfalls or Kamiranzovu swamps; view other species of primates for example the black and white colobus monkeys, mountain monkeys, Mona monkeys, Blue monkeys, bush babies etc. In the afternoon, transfer to Butare; journey takes 3 hours. Meal plan: F/B at the hotel. Overnight: - Pettit Prince or Corsini Hotel.

Day 8
Morning, visit the National University and the National Museum, introduction to Rwanda’s kingdoms, discovery of colonial architecture; enjoy traditional dancers from the museum or the national university. Proceed with historical and cultural-minded exploration of Burundi. Transfer from Butare to Bujumbura takes at least 5 hours. Meal plan: F/B at the hotel. Overnight: - Amahoro hotel.

Day 9
Bujumbura city tour and get to learn from Speke and Burton historical site, Lake Tanganyika etc and later links to nearby Karera waterfalls, the Germany monument in Burundi and the claimed source of river Nile in Burundi. In the afternoon, drive back to Bujumbura. Meal Plan: F/B. Overnight at Amahoro hotel.

Day 10
Breakfast at 7am then drive to the Batwa (Pygmy) in Busekera. En-route visit the Burundi national museum in Gitega. In the afternoon, get entertained by Abagumyabanga cultural troupe in Bujumbura. F/B. Overnight at Amahoro hotel.

Day 11:
Today you will be picked up from Kagunga/Kabonga to Lake Tanganyika, departure by boat to Gombe National Park the boat takes two hours, arrival pick up and transfer to TANAPA Bandas / Guest house. Hot lunch, and after lunch chimp trekking, visit kakombe waterfall, on route monkeys like the red colobus monkey, red tail monkey are among of the best attraction you will observe at the park, Dinner and overnight at TANAPA Bandas/Guest house. F/B

Day 12:
After breakfast, will be picked up by TANAPA guide for chimp trekking, visit Mkenge waterfall, Jen’s and back to the Guest house for late lunch. Enjoy extra activities such as swimming, snorkeling, bonfire dinner and overnight at TANAPA Bandas/Guest house. F/B

Day 13:
After breakfast, transfer by boat back to Kigoma town, Lunch at Tanganyika beach hotel. After lunch (Optional, for extra cost) tour in Kigoma town, Visit Ujiji Dr. Living stone memorial centre, dinner and overnight at Coast view resort. F/B

Day 14:
After very early breakfast, you are transferred by boat to Kigoma town which will take at least two hour. On arrival you drive from Kigoma Town with packed lunch boxes via Uvinza Mpanda and Sitalike on your way to Katavi National Park. Enjoy your lunch on the way on the picnic site your guide will select for you. Arrival in Katavi National Park will be in the evening and check in for overnight at Katavi TANAPA Bandas/Guest house. F/B

Day 15:
After breakfast, you do morning and afternoon drives to see the real wildlife of Africa with packed lunch boxes in Katavi National Park. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the site your guide will select for you. After game drives drive back for overnight at Katavi TANAPA Bandas/Guest house. F/B

Day 16:
After breakfast, morning game drives till lunch time. After lunch drive to Kigoma for your overnight at Coast view resort. F/B

Day 17:
After breakfast pickup from you hotel in Kigoma and drive to Manyovu. Picked and continue the drive to Rwanda. Overnight at Drive Hotel.

Day 18:
Drive to Kigali, do some final shopping before evening transfer to the airport.
