The BBC seeks African Business Ventures... (UK
only)
The BBC Business Unit is currently producing a
documentary series in which we intend to follow adventurous families as they
embark on brave and exciting business ventures abroad.
All of us at
some time have thought of selling up and following a dream by taking control of
our own destiny. For some it will never be more than a dream but for you it may
be an impending reality.
So, if you are planning to move from the UK to
Africa in the next month or so and if you are to launch a business in leisure
and tourism for example, then BBC would love to hear from you. Please send an
email to The

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) -
Goma
Congo volcano: The facts In pictures: Volcano wreaks havoc Humanitarian situation - 30th Jan 02 Mt.
Nyiragongo in the north east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) erupted
on Thursday 17 January, engulfing much of the city of Goma, and causing
widespread destruction in neighbouring villages.
Most the people that
fled are now returning but the 60,000 people in Goma have had their homes and
livelihoods destroyed, and there are an estimated 150,000 displaced people in
West Goma.
The major problems facing the people of Goma as they return
are water and sanitation, shelter, food, medical care and schools. Aid is
starting to get through to some of those most desperately in need, but the
money needs to keep flowing, so that those people who have had their homes and
livelihoods destroyed have a chance of picking up the pieces of their
lives.
