Driving from Sierra Leone to UK - 9 years ago

Hi, I am looking for any advice about driving from Sierra Leone (in a Sierra Leone registered car) back to the UK, following the coast. The plan is to sell/scrap the car in Europe or if it is still working drive it on to where ever I live next. It would be amazing if anyone could particularly help with a few bits that are coming up at the moment.... 1. has anyone been through Mauritania...
