I am going to spend 4 month (April-July) in Nairobi working at an embassy as an intern (volunteer of course...), so now I am looking for an appartment or a room near the centre of Nairobi (Mama Ngina Street) or close to the city (I won't say no to a room in a house close to the Nairobi National Park with a sportsman and a cup of Johnny Walker). There are a few people in Nairobi who live alone in 2 & 3 bedroom flats and are willing to house-share or give accommodation to travellers/ tourists/visitors for periods of time. One is on Ngong Road and another in Langata near Carnivore Restaurant. Then there is one in Nairobi West and also Jamhuri Estate all of who live alone and are willing to share/accommodate -a bedroom for yourself and share the rest of the house with host.
It costs you about Kshs1000 ($15 or £7) a day. Would probably work out to less than USD500 a month. You also have your laundry done once a week. And House help available.

I'm looking for a one bedroom apartment anywhere in Hurlingham(Yaya district), Westlands, Chiromo or similarly secure parts of Nai. I do not wish to share since I'm a woman & love my privacy...no offense. My budget is max. 400/a month & I am planning to stay 3 months depending on different circumstances. I know there are many real estate agencies that hook you up with empty apartments for a cheaper price & month to month deal, which is Ok too as long as it is a clean place especially the bathroom. Could I interest you in a B & B type of accomodation that is very safe (5 mins from UNON and the American Embassy), comfortable, decent and affordable too? It's small enough to guarantee your privacy and quite homely too.
