Hey folks,
Hope someone can help me on this one. I´ve read in ´Lonely Planet´that when you travel by train from Nairobi 2 Mombasa you´ll be devided by gender? It would be a problem because I´m travelling with my girlfriend <img src="[www.africaguide.com]]

Thanks in advance

thats false as well am a Kenyan and i travel via train to coast as well, there may be one instance that bit happend to such people who were genderly separated if you book 2nd class one cabin has 4 beds and if you are 2 people and some other 2 people join in who are strangers then it can happen. but otherwise if you book 1st class then you are only the 2 of you and theres no separation.
come and see our beautiful country and judge for yourselve, you will have a story to tell.
cheers
claudia

Absolute Rubbish .....
There is no such thing as Gender Division in Kenya and never heard of it on Trains in kenya.
Whoever is telling you this Jackanory .... Needs a life, and is definately having a laugh.

You can book your own cabin with Bunker beds, and what a beautiful journey it's going to be.

I am born in Mombasa, and my Father worked in the Railways, and we travelled by train to and fro every month, as we had free travel. It is the most memorable trips i've ever had.
I visit Kenya every year, and i was in there in Mar 07.....
Go and enjoy yourself.

If you travel second class you will be seperated if the train is full. I was seperated from my wife. You are not seperated if you travel first class. Bus is a far quicker and cheaper means of transport though.
