Is it worth bringing a car from Japan?

Hello, we are going to be posted in Nairobi in December.

Right now, we are planning to send a used land cruiser to Nairobi, but of course the shipping cost is very expensive. But we have no idea how easy (or difficult) we can get a good-conditioned 4x4 there and how much it would cost.

Can anyone give us any idea how the expat-car-selling-market is?

If we add the shipping cost, our car would cost USD 20,000 (1997 toyota land cruiser prado 2700tx, one owner, in excellent condition, petrol engine, brouhgt from Japan). Is it worth bringing the car from japan or not?

We would very appreciate if you give us any information.

Ok not too bad but why dont you go for Diesel car, what i was thinking is that you could come to kenya and look for a car here coz USD20,000 can more, also you've to pay the shipping plus the the registration fee so that you can be given the number plate. for my side i see that it is on the higher side.
for my sugg is the you could com to kenya and look for a diesel engine car coz petrol now in kenya is very expencive.
