Go check out CIA web site, check out your department of state website for travel restriction to Botswana. Usually $1 dollar will get you about BWP 6.00 (between 5.50 to 6 Botswana pulas) Botswana is safe, police don't even go around carrying guns willy nilly. But don't do anything stupid like leaving your valuables in public unattended, lock your car, don't leave your car window cracked. If you take the same security measure like when in New york you will be o.key.do.key! in Botswana we prefer ok!. Talk to your embassy.
