Anyone ever seen millet being harvested with tradional methods in Africa, or know where that could be seen? They pound it with wooden mortars and then sift it (what I believe is also commonly called threshing or winnowing). I just saw a video clip (I can link the URL) of a tradional millet harvest in a village in India. It looked pretty amazing.
