What is telecoms like in Remote Zambia?

Has anyone been travelling in the remote areas of Zambia. I found the Iridium phone to be very useful and it has reception everywhere. You can also connect your laptop and send and receive mails with the phone and it's really inexpensive at $1.50 per minute to any destination in the world.
