I have a offer to join in the department of Govt. as a cardiologist for a year on contract I want to enquire about the lifestyle and cost of living if I bring my family?

Are you from India, because I read in the mauritian newspaper, there will come many doctors from India.
I am from Germany.
The prices in the supermarkets is arround the same like in germany ( no you have a good idea <img src="[www.africaguide.com]])
tomatos 1 Kg 30 MUR
fish 1Kg 50 MUR
busticket 10 - 20 MUR
restaurant main course 100 - 250 MRU in normal R.

Would anyone be able to provide me with the monthly cost of living in Mauritius (Port Louis, to be exact). I'm looking for information about rent, food & transportation and any other expenses one might incur while living there for 6 months.
I will be coming from Canada.
