Mauritius and Reunion island

Well i've been in Mauritius last week,a beautiful place, sandy beaches,"de luxe" hotels, but what I've prefered is my visit on Reunion island (20 minutes by plane from Mauritius),I've post a topic on Reunion island in this forum, glance an eye !

No comparison

I think that you are comparing apples and oranges here. Mauritius is known for its beaches while Reunion is known for its mountains. Also Reunion being part of France is more developed but then again it means that prices for goods and services are European prices. Like I said there is no fair comparison.

I went to Mauritius and Reunion and i'm not agree with you! I see and feel Reunion Island as a real paradise! So many mountains,so many waterfalls,so many "primary"forests! and of course the volcano! Well i spent some days in "trou aux biches hotel"it was great but try to see the reality of some mauritius areas like port lois the main town or some other places like riviere noir and there oh my god i found so poor pepople ! so many disapointed people living as animals! On reunion everything is more expensive,it is true but you can't find dirty places like i saw in Mauritius!Life is wonderful only inside the "de luxe" hotels in Mauritius, outside it is another story! That's what i feel, and of course no comparison!
Mauritius versus La reunion

I take great exception to Rika's comment re Mauritians living like animals-many Mauritians may be poor and live in what tourists may consider inadequate housing but they do not live like animals -that is a gross insult to a nation which are a happy contented people with a genuine warmth which they readily extend to foreign visitors. Mauritius has warts -what place on this planet doesn't but it is a wonderful place full of delights from many cultures. Having lived many years in Europe I chose to make my home here and there is not a single day when I have any regrets at all.I have not had the opportunity to visit la Reunion so cannot make the comparisons but I just want to set the record straight about the false comment about Mauritians.
Comment to Rika regarding Mtians living like animals

I would like to know where Rika comes from. What is her benchmark for civilised people or animals. What wonderful paradise of a country to you hail from to call my mother's countrymen animals? Go back to your country - Mauritius does not need crap people like you around loudmouthing it.

Please do not insult animals with your comments either.
