Good Day Sir,

May I please ask you to help me as well. I have been researching all over the internet and not finding any definitive information for the emigration issue that I have.

Okay so here is some background on me.

I am a 29 year old male currently working for a large international company. I have lived in the UK for just over a year a few years ago. I have about $13 000 US and would like to immigrate to one of the following countries. United States (1st Choice) Canada (2nd Choice) and Ireland (3rd Choice). The company that I work for would be willing to help me with the move to any of these countries as well as helping me with the the relevant Visa's etc. The issue that I have is that I NEED to take my fiance and younger brother of 18 years with me. I have looked into the green card options which states that it could take up to 5 years for them to obtain one once I have moved over to the US and not sure about Ireland and Canada. My Fiance has 5 years of experience working as a office manager in an accounting firm and my brother just finished his GED. Is there anyway or "loopholes" for them to move to any of these countries within 3 months of me moving over or am I searching in vain? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards Pierre

Dear Adrie

Though not speaking English is a hindrance, still this is not a pre-requisite to get a job in Mauritius.

Just send me your CV on vayidm2000@yaho.com, and I'll advise you what to do.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

My family and I would like to make the move, my mother is a Maritain citizen so we would like to apply for citizenship under Maritain descent but we have heard that there is a cutoff date plus minus 1973 - 1974 for children of Maritain citizens not born in Mauritius? Do you have any info on this and what can be done if we can’t get in via the descent route?

Dear pbrough

Being married to a South African, and the dialogue you've surely shared with many, I can save you from rhetoric you must've heard countless times. Suffice to say, it's become an urgent to get outta dodge due to recent events (will share the two articles that woke me up if you're interested). I would be truly grateful if you can assist with basic info because Google is just not rendering helpful resources.
I choose not to spam you with reams of info and think it better to ask what kind of assistance and info you're able and happy to give. Thank you kindly. Michael. Michaelandersonsa@gmail.com

My husband and I live in Durban, we are thinking of a retirement future in Mauritius, we still have about 10 years to retirement and thought it's best to try and find out way in advance as to how one goes about living in S.A. and preparing for retirement in Mauritius.

We have been to Black river, la Morne twice and absolutely love it.

I look forward to your response.

I don't want to get out of South Africa but instead the U.K.! My family and I are looking at moving to Mauritius in the coming months and finding visa info is not easy My husband works overseas about 6 months a year so we want to relocate to Mauritius and he then travel away from there. At present we do not want to spend $500,000 on a resort property to get visas and all business visas I've seen seem to require huge investments and huge turn overs. My husband is in the marine industry and presently our business is registered in the U.K. Could we close the business in the U.K. , register it in Mauritius and base ourselves there.
Any info you have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kathy

Hi Pbrough,
I trust you,re keeping well I know this article was posted 6 years ago but may be it may help even now. I live in US but very much interested in moving to Mauritius.
Could you please help in explaining coz I 've searched but all I find is invest $550 000 in Mauritius and you get a residence. As you know getting that much money needs decades of saving in America. My question is there another way apart from investing.

Please advise.

Can you please give me in plain simple language what is the story to move to Mauritius for SA citizens? Me and my wife are both retired and obviously we would like to consider a move to Mauritius only if it is better to be there than is South Africa.

1 - What is the US$500 000 exactly for?
2 - I have read somewhere that one is only allowed to take R2m per adult across from RSA to Mauritius. Is the correct?
3 - What will I be doing in Mauritius. Is there opportunities to be busy instead of playing golf the entire day?
4 - I understand that it is very difficult to buy property - house or apartment?

Please give some guidance.

Kind regards

Hi everybody

The USD500,000 is the minimum required IF you want to buy a property (IRS, RES, PDS) and enjoy permanent residency as owners. Property is limited to those under special schemes allowed to foreigners. Foreigners cannot buy land or buildings freely like locals will.

There are opportunities to be busy, that;s why we have other permit schemes : Investor, Self-employed and Professional.
Most of our clients who relocate to Mauritius, do it to open their business or launch their self-employed activities. Depending on your qualifications and expertise, there are many things to be done in Mauritius, apart from playing golf.

If you have questions, feel free to contact us as info@gibsonandhills.com or check our website www.gibsonandhills.com

Hi Fiona,

The best way to go for your citizenship application is to hire a consultant to assist you with the required permit/visa etc... There are several schemes and ways that will allow you to get your citizenship and the help of a consultant will ease the application process.

If you don't know any serious company to assist you, do let me know and I will surely help.

Good day

I am hoping you can shed some light on my situation. My husband and I would like to move to from South Africa to Mauritius with our two small children.
My husband is a systems developer at a small company and I am a qualified radiographer. My husband is still waiting to see if current business opportunities in South Africa will be realized, but I would like to get the ball rolling in the meantime. I cant seem to find any radiography work on the Mauritian job sites, and also dont have any idea what I could earn as a radiographer. My husband is also looking for work in his field, but needs to speak French to apply. I am sure I would also need to speak French in my field of work. Neither of us speak French yet, but will be enrolling soon.
I am feeling stuck. I would appreciate any insight that can start moving things forward. Even a job site that is used by locals, or something to that effect.

I hope this isn't too far from your area of expertise.

Best regards
