Cost of Living in Blantyre

I am having an offer of employment at US$800 pm. I do understand that there would be local tax to the tune of US$250 pm. Hence left out would be approx.550 which is equivalent to 60000 khwatch local currency. I am having wife with one son who is 4 yrs old and school going in Kindergarden. Our family is pure vegetrian.
Is it possible to survive at this Salary with some savings?
I wish someone can guide us.

I am interested tin this issue as well. I am going to teach and they are offering a house and 800 stipend.
