Hi Marlon,
good choice on hotel (it's in The Rough Guide to Morocco book, look it up) but we've just come back from there, unable to get into Central Palace again (we stayed there last time) we stayed in Riad Omar which was just across the street and round the corner, still central to the djeema el fna and we got a double room for 300 dh, and it's a lovely room, in a riad with a great terrace. better still was hotel sherazad which has a beautiful terrace, 400dh for a double room, 50dh for breakfast, both hotels are a real delight, you can get much cheaper but these are the best i found so far. However, Central Palace gives you a great view in the evening over the main square which the others don't but there roof terrace's, tents and pergolas, mint tea and sunshine breakfasts more than make up for it.
also found a great apartment/suite in essaouira if you're going, 400dh top floor great atmosphere if you're headed that way its called residence el mehdi in the medina
good luck, bon voyage
