One of the places on earth the most
abounding in fish. The Saloum Delta is aundent in fish. There are hundreds of
islands formed by mangrove trees. The water is salty and ebbs and flows from
the Atlantic Ocean into the delta, a real paradise for the angling enthaustic.
Fishing is mostly done from a piroque ( this is a long small Senegalese boat ).
The boats along with fishing equipment can be rented from one of the hotels
which are situated on the river Saloum border. Fish that can be caught include;
The Baracuda, The Cobia, The Tarpon, Rays (Stingray, the Ray Guitar and some
other species, The Captain, The Ombrine, The Carranque
