Reunion has a hot tropical climate that
can be split into two seasons; the hot, rainy, clyclonic summer from October to
March; and from April to September, the cool, dry winter. The east coast has
higher rainfall that the west. In the hills temperatures are much cooler, and
can reach freezing point during night time.
Nationals of USA, Canada, New Zealand and most
European countries may enter for up to three months with out visa but
Australian and other do require French visas. The requirements change regularly
and it is recommended that you check with your local representative, or French
Embassy for the latest. It is usual for the authorities to request that
visitors provide proof of an onward ticket and supply the name of intended
accommodation.
Driving is on
the right hand side and and International Driving Licence is recommended. Car
hire is available at the airport and in St. Denis and some other main
towns.
Mountain bikes and conventional bikes can be hired.

If you need medical care whilst in
Reunion, it is best to be aware that medical providers may not accept payment
through your insurance company. In these circumstances you will have to pay in
full after your treatment and file a claim with your insurance company for
reimbursement. Therefore you should have access to cash, either from a credit
card or by wire transfer. If you need assistance contact the country's local
embassy or representative.
To be compensated you must be treated by

documentation and receipts.
