Description
Having been in existence for nearly a decade, this campsite and backpackers' haven is now run by an English couple called Tom and Janey who, after travelling the continent for over a decade and visiting more than twenty-five African countries, decided to settle here in the “Warm Heart of Africa”.
The campsite is the perfect place to unwind after that long bus journey from Lusaka, or for picking up that safari tour around Malawi or to Zambia's South Luangwa National Park. We offer hot showers, cold beer, yummy food and a gorgeous swimming pool, what more do you need? Well, how about an internet cafe with wireless internet, home-made smoothies, a fantastic book exchange, and of course, all the maps, guidebooks and advice you need to plan your onward journey - whether you need to know about cocktails in cape town or camping in Congo, we can help!
Despite Malawi’s small size it has a wide variety of landscapes, all of which are relatively easily accessed by the visitor. If you fancy hiking on the mighty Mount Mulanje or lounging on your own secluded island on the lake, Malawi is the country for you. There’s plenty of wildlife to see in one of Malawi’s many national parks. There’s plenty of wildlife to see under the water too, Malawi is one of the cheapest places to learn to dive in the world. And there is plenty to see, Lake Malawi provides the worlds aquariums with the majority of their fish.
