Conservation in Africa  

Help to study African wildlife and conserve Africa's environment.

Whether you are taking a gap year, are on a career break, studying towards a particular field and need experience or wish to spend your holiday doing something worthwhile and rewarding, you will find a suitable programme that will benefit you and Africa's unique wildlife and nature.

We have many different Wildlife and Conservation programs lasting from a couple of weeks up to a year. Anybody, professional or non professional, can participate. It is a great way to travel and make new friends, especially if you are a solo traveller.

Wildlife & Conservation Projects

Marine Conservation & Research in Seychelles
As an expedition member joining the team, you will spend your time diving upon the coral reef, collecting characterisation and monitoring identification and abundance data on invertebrates and fish species. You will also be able to increase your dive qualifications to PADI Advanced Diver and take some PADI Speciality courses

Wildlife conservation expedition in South Africa
Play a hands-on role in the long term conservation of African wildlife, enjoy first-class wildlife viewing and live on a Game Reserve in the heart of South Africa as part of a wildlife research team, participating in wildlife monitoring projects, including assisting with the research on predator/prey interactions by radio tracking..

Volunteer on the Madagascar Conservation Project
This unique and innovative programme offers volunteers the opportunity to contribute on-going conservation work in the critically endangered costal forests of southeast Madagascar. It combines practical, hands-on conservation research on endangered flora and fauna – in particular lemurs, reptiles and amphibians – with community initiatives and environmental education, building the community’s understanding of the complex habitats of which they are the stewards.

70 days: Volunteer on the unique and exotic island of Madagascar. Pioneers take part in a range of practical construction work, conservation research and educational activities as required by the NGO's projects, which focus on health and sanitation, sustainable livelihoods and conservation.

Africa's Big 5 Wildlife and Conservation Project
This exciting and hands-on wildlife project offers volunteers the chance to get up-close with some of Africa’s most charismatic mammals. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Langeberg mountain range, the reserve guards the entrance to South Africa’s world famous Garden Route coast. This malaria-free, private game reserve is home to an abundance of animal and bird life, including the Big 5!

Dolphin Research in Kenya
Volunteers will live and work in the beautiful Shimoni Archipelago, off the coast of the Indian Ocean on the border with Tanzania, a world class location for dolphins as well as other wildlife. Assisting local and international researchers to monitor dolphins; camping out under the African stars; living on an African island; developing your knowledge of marine studies, experiencing the amazing mega-fauna of the island that includes whales, whale sharks and manta rays (seasonal), snorkeling some of Kenya’s finest coral reefs.
