Description
Ujamaa Hostel is located in Arusha, Tanzania just a short walk from the centre of town. We have 14 bunk beds (4-6 beds in each room) and one private room with a double bed (with shared bathroom). Linen and mosquito nets are included (bring your own towel!) and all prices include breakfast and dinner. There is a large common room with TV and DVD and a selection of books and movies. We also have expansive gardens and outdoor seating areas too. Laundry is provided free of charge. We provide 24hr access and security and all beds have lockable draws for storing valuables.
Arusha is a reasonably large town in Northern Tanzania and is the gateway to The Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater where you can Safari to see animals and spectualar countryside. For those interested in climbing, Arusha stands at the base of Mt Meru (Tanzania's 2nd largest mountain) and just an hour away from Africa's grandest peak, Mt Kilimanjaro. Within the town itself you can visit the UN International Rwandan War Crimes Tribunal, local Masai Craft Markets, Snake Park and other interesting attractions. Arusha also offers a wide range of western and local cuisine restuarants, bars/pubs, internet access, supermarkets, cafes and a movie theatre.
How To Find Us
We provide airport pickups from Kilimanjaro International Airport for US$35 or free pick ups from the Arusha bus station.
If coming by taxi we are located down Fire Road. Go past the Masai Craft Market and follow the road around to the left. Follow the road straight as it turns to a dirt road for another 200m and the hostel is on the left.
