Description
Accessible by tar road 206km north of Maputo:Our fully furnished cottage,House O'Ceu,is located 5 minutes'walk from CHONGOENE beach front,in a secure,serene and peacefull area.Leading from the living room is an outside deck with a stunning sea view.With 3 bedrooms (1 bedroom with double bed,another with 2 single beds and a 3rd room with 2 bunker beds ),a kitchen, lounge,bathroom with shower, washing basin, an outside-shower and under roof parking(4x4 vehicles only),the log cabin house is ideal for families of six.An additional guest may sleep on the coach in the lounge.The NEW CHONGOENE RESTAURANT 75m from the house,is right next to the beach,& also offers a cosy bar .This resort is 7km from Praia de Xai Xai (the only dirt road)12km from inland Xai Xai with its local markets,shops,restaurants, petrol stations,hardware stores,banks,pharmacies, a hospital and open air furniture factories.The local money is Meticais,but South African Rand (Paper money)is also accepted at some places. You will be able to draw meticais at the ATM's or banks, in Xai Xai - 14km inland.Fishing trips,scuba diving, quad bike rides & birdwatching are some of the activities taking place in the surrounding area. You have to arrange with the people concerned ,yourself.Bring your own food,drink, ALL towels,malaria precautions & self catering necessities.Normal vehicles has to park 20m from the house at a car port(help with baggage is available).Boats/Trailers can be parked down at the restaurant.Although this is a peaceful area,normal safety precautions has to be take in consideration and quests stay on there own riskBookings for Camping sites can be arranged with Peter & Colleen George
How To Find Us
Xai Xai (pronounced as 'shy-shy') is situated in the
southern part of Mozambique, just over 206km North
of Maputo on the Northern banks of the Limpopo
river. As you drive north on the EN1 over the
Limpopo river bridge into Xai Xai, you follow the
road until it splits-take the road to your
right,which will take you to the outskirts of Xai
Xai. Approximatley 7km further(after taking the turn
off to your right,you will reach the roundabout at
Praia do Xai-Xai (beach),take the first exit and
drive straight down to the sea front.
The sand road next to the sea on your left hand
side,(about6KM long)takes you to CHONGOENE HOLIDAY
RESORT.At the restaurant,Colleen or Peter George
will assist you with the keys etc.

*R250 per person per night.50%( non-refundable ) deposit is required to confirm your reservation and the balance of payment due ONE month prior to arrival.Children under 3 years stay free of charge.*Tariffs for Easter and period 15 Dec to 1st of January:R1500 per house per day (6 sleep max).Banking details to be advised on booking.Guests stay at own risk
