Description
Catembe Gallery Hotel sets itself apart from the mainstream Maputo hotels, by emphasizing and enhancing both conditions and assets of African living. Our aim is to treat every guest as if they were a regular guest whose been coming to the hotel for the past 20 years, even if it’s their first time.Lined all across the walls, rooms, and furnishings of our hotel, works of some of Mozambique’s most famous and ‘up-and-coming’ artists are found. From sculptures to paintings, and from carvings to photos, The Gallery Foundation assists many a local artist. We have been known to provide grants in form of materials, and regularly purchase and exhibit the artwork of artists both from Catembe and all across Mozambique. Though only aquick 10 minute boat ride across the Maputo Bay,you get the distinct feeling of being far away on a tropical island in the midst of a rural tropical village, while being a mere 15 minutes from the city centre! Catembe Gallery boasts our very own Restaurant Marisol, a namesake for ‘Pousada Marisol’, which opened in 1958. Famous for the freshest, tastiest prawns in town, we are more than proud to carry on this tradition. Enjoy delicious indian ocean cuisine while basking in the breathtaking 180 degree view of the Maputo City Skyline. We also offer a variety of house activities, from quad biking in Catembe to Fishing in the bay, to enjoying a relaxing massage or Jacuzzi by the poolbar.There is a fully equipped, newly renovated Conference room with capacity for over 100 participants in auditorium-style seating.
How To Find Us
From SA by N4 Toll Road Swaziland: Pass second tollgate, arrive at
first circle, take right (third road) which will take you downtown
(Baixa) Follow that road to 24 de Setembro. Get to 3rd traffic light
with highest building on left with mCell publicity, take right, follow
road to the left and you will see the jetty to Catembe (next to Ministry
of Finance)
