Description
The Lilongwe Sanctuary Lodge is a new Eco lodge built in the heart of Lilongwe. It is perfectly positioned and within walking distance to supermarkets, embassies and banks. Environmentally friendly building materials have been used, natural vegetation, as far as possible has been saved and the lodge site offers protection and showcases Malawi’s natural heritage. 10 X en suite chalets offer secluded and exclusive accommodation facilities for discerning guests in over 8 hectares of pristine indigenous woodland. The main restaurant, reception and bar area overlook a custom designed swimming pool set in landscaped and lawned gardens, continuing down to the Lingadzi River. All rooms have two ¾ beds and a cot can be provided if required. The air conditioned rooms have internet connection, hairdryers, mini bars and tea / coffee making facilities for your convenience. The lodge has 220v [UK square pin type] electricity and there is a backup generator servicing the entire lodge for the infrequent power cuts. Breakfast Lunches and evening meals are served in the main restaurant which is open to the public and an all day snack menu is available. The area is surrounded by electrified fence which protects the indigenous brachystegia [Miombo] trees and the wide variety of animals that reside in this area. CAMPSITE
Set away from the main lodge and the chalets is a spacious and well designed campsite. The campsite has a large ablution block and will in the near future have its own bar, restaurant and swimming pool. The site caters for individual campers as well as providing sites for bigger groups of people. Picnic sites are available along the river and the Lodge has access into the adjacent Lilongwe Wildlife Centre as an added attraction. The Wildlife Centre is a rescue and rehabilitation centre for Malawi’s wild animals. Animals like monkeys, baboons, duikers, leopard, hyena, crocodile and a python can be seen on a guided tour of the facility.
