Mikadi Beach Lodge derives its name from the Mikadi Tree which thrives along the beautiful Tanzanian coastline.

Jo (Zimbabwean) & Lucho (Chilean) married and Owner/Managers took over the Lodge in February 2008 and since then have embarked on a complete refurbishment of the place. If you have your heart and soul in a place this emanates to staff and clients alike. We are in love with Mikadi and that shows in everything we do to make your stay with us both enjoyable and memorable.

They say location is everything and we are in the perfect location! We are only 15/20mins from the Zanzibar Ferry so ideally placed for those travellers wanting to visit Zanzibar.

We cater for the Independent Traveller and offer exceptional value for money. All our 12 bandas have been refurbished and have individual fans and full sized mosquito nets. We have a shower block and toilet block which are clean and well maintained. We also really do have piping hot showers! For those of you travelling with your own tents we cater for you also. Our beautiful swimming pool is available when the tide is out and our bar restaurant awaits those glorious sundowners we in Africa are famous for! Try our homemade burgers…..

How To Find Us

Getting here:

Dar es Salaam airport - take taxi from outside airport main exit. Here they have the fare prices clearly marked in both TSH & USD$ and they are all licenced cab drivers. It’s approximately USD$30 for a cab to Mikadi. You have to cross over from the harbour via the Kigamboni Ferry and if this is behaving you should arrive with us within 40/50 mins from the airport.

Dar es Salaam - if driving from the City head towards the harbour and South Coast. Board the Kigamboni Ferry (which takes 7 mins to cross to the other side) and then about 1km on the left hand side look out for our LARGE sign Mikadi Beach! If on foot head towards the Harbour and Kigamboni Ferry Port. Kigamboni Ferry Port is a 10 min walk from the Zanzibar Ferry Port. Another landmark nearby is The Kempinski Hotel ask anybody here if lost for the Kigamboni Ferry. Once on the other side (South Coast) you can either take a rickshaw ride for a few dollars or cab or 20 min brisk walk! We are 1km on the left hand side - you cannot miss our large sign!
